All fans of crappy horrors can celebrate once again: group iNTiMiD released a dvdrip of Day Of The Dead and this movie can be easily put into the B- category. It has a fairly high budget for an STV movie though: $18 million is even more than many mainstream flicks. The main role of this remake is starred by cute Mena Suvari and there are few other familiar actors - but the story just kills it…
A government contained city is infected by zombies when people who are bitten by zombies are taken to the local hospital. Meanwhile, the remaining survivors take cover in an underground tunnel. Day of the Dead opens with a Military road block securing a small town Colorado highway. We quickly become acquainted with Captain Rhodes (Ving Rhames), Corporal Sarah Cross (Mena Suvari), Privates Bud Crain (Stark Sands) and Salazar (Nick Cannon); all of them laced with “I mean business” mugs.

This has nothing to do with the Romero classic. This movie blows and is a disgrace to true zombie movies. It isn’t even any good if you try to watch it as a B movie. Just horrible…

I quite liked this, its quite fun when watched with a few friends and some of the gore is OTT. Its not scary, its a really bad horror film but in an entertaining way lol

Man, being a massive George Romero fan I can safely say that this is a turd of a film. Its a insult to Georges work and Im still annoyed that I wasted 1hr 20mins of my life watching it. Watch at your own risk!

i watched the dvdscr of this, had to switch off halfway, its awful. 18 million dollars is not high budget, even the matrix which is considered low budget cost 40 million. still goo against all these 200+ million “blockbusters” we’re seeing these days.

Zombies cannot run because they are rotting cadavers. arms and legs falling off sort’ve prevents more than a shuffle. hence many people dislike zombie movies with fast moving zombies.

i watched the dvdscr of this, HFB couldnt watch more than 30 min before shutting it off, and i luv zombie movies. even participated in the zombie walk in my city last year were 5000 people dressed up as zombies and shuffled around the city. ah those japenese toorists almost craped there pants when 200 zombies sourounded there tour bus leaveing all but bloody hand prints on the windows.

On the running issue; Besides not being realistic (if that term can be applied to a movie about walking corpses), running zombies just aren’t as creepy as shuffling ones. Sure, they’re more dangerous, but they don’t really seem all that different from living people.
Zombies are not smart enough to run, their slow, stupid and can barely control their legs and arms.
18mill and yet they cant make zombies that are zombies..
I can make that with the 10 bux it costs me to buy some beer and a piece of paper to write on…

The leap of faith regarding the “dead walking” simply can’t extend a bit when it comes to them running? Name me a real life zombie that isn’t smart enough to run…you can’t it’s made up..get over it Romero tools !

not so good…if you really want a movie that will nail you to your seat,that has a devastating 7.9 from imdb and is really scary,just download “REC”.
the “dead walking” is quite a small leap of faith to make when you see the type of things most scientists are upto these days.
The dead running despite the fact that their bodies have rotted away (excluding newly-dead) is a massive leap of faith.
Oh, and I’m not a huge fan of romero either, bell-end.
Just so happens that all of the “zombies” in this film are of the “newly-dead” variety. If I’m not mistaken, these are also infected types similar to those in 28 Days/Weeks Later, and they suffer from a form of rage. Hence the odd behaviors and wall/ceiling movements at a very quick pace.
Scientists and leaps of faith? Over-thinking it just a bit? So, I guess some people need to re-examine their “knowledge” of how this movie stuff works and involve the imagination a bit more. It’s all just fictional entertainment!

Doesn’t hold a candle to the Dawn of the Dead remake, but I still found this pretty enjoyable. Not a huge budget, but still I think it’s above a B-movie rating. If you’re a fan of Romero or zombie movies, snatch it. It’s worth the download at least.
