Darkness Within-FLT

The genre of adventures is not really popular in last few years, but there are still enough fans to appreciate a good game, so developers continue to publish a new adventure from time to time. Darkness Within isn’t anything spectacular and looks pretty boring though. The lack of any protection made it a pretty easy release for Fairlight.

As police detective Howard E. Loreid, players are tasked to solve the murder of Clark Field, a wealthy man involved in the occult. At the top of your list of suspects is Loath Nolder, a highly respected private investigator who mysteriously abandoned his last case for reasons unknown. Rumor had it that he ventured to several exotic places around the world. It remains a great mystery as to why Loath Nolder disappeared so suddenly, resurfacing five years later and resuming his investigations just as abruptly as he had left them. Why does this venerated P.I. now sit on the other side of the law?

This seemingly routine investigation takes a dramatic twist as strange and terrifying happenings begin to plague your psyche. You experience lucid horrifying dreams and are tormented by paranormal happenings. Why do days pass instead of hours when you sleep? What’s real and what’s not? As you pursue fugitive murder suspect Loath Nolder, you must face dire truths hidden deep within a haunting darkness and the recesses of your mind.

Game features:

  • Built-in Hint System with 3 Difficulty Levels – Players can choose to play in Standard, Detective, or Senior Detective modes.
  • Unique Inventory System – Utilizing the ‘thinking screen’ allows players to collect and examine items, and thoughts. Clues can also be researched, combined or used.
  • Dynamic Puzzles and Features – Traditional adventure game puzzles are complimented by deciphering dreams and underlining excerpts in documents to garner critical clues.
  • Enhanced Gameplay Experience – The proprietary game engine enables compelling special effects and stunning visuals in a panoramic first person game environment.
  • Eerie Gameplay Atmosphere – An immersive experience is created by a fascinating story, chilling real-time cut scenes, and haunting music.

“…but there are still enough fans to appreciate a good game…”

So in your book only point-and-click “adventures” are good games? No offence, but those things are the most lame and skill-less games on the market. I rather play an exiting FPS or RTS than this grandad stuff.

    Notes:
    ======

We would like to send our appologies to guys in VITALITY.
It was a mistake that we duped ViTALiTYs release of Hellgate: London.
First working game wins, that is the scene rules.
We also would like to point out that the responsible member for
Hellgate:London release is no longer a FLT member.

    Isnt that cute…

#4 If you dont like adventure games ok but please don’t mess with the adventure genre. No other genres are better than adventure and some long time in gaming history is ruled by the “adventure” genre ok?

  24. Limes
    November 9th, 2007 | 23:17

The message from FLT is likely, as it is obvious the individual

who went on the Nuking’run was a wanker , hence they have
    ditched him from the Group…………….

Contrary to some peoples beliefs, scene groups aren’t made up of teens :P

Adventure games are awesome, they help break things up…

If you get stumped, just use a walk through.

The idea is, to enjoy the atmosphere, and to just chill a little………..

a GOOD STORY! can have a powerful effect, and can be very rewarding !……

Worked without problems for me, 6600gt nvidia. However I got stuck really early on but that probably have more to do with my brain than my hardware.

It looks pretty decent, quite atmospheric, but as I said I havent really had the chance to see much of it yet.

I really want to play this because it is a Turkish made game. But i dont like panoramic adventures because they seem pretty dull and static to me. I prefer 3rd person adventures because they are perfect to implement a good atmospheric plot.
Culpa Innata(another Turkish game) is a better one i hope.
@console kid : this game is an adventure game, resident evil 4 is an action-adventure game they are not in the same bin.
But you graphics card should run this game because it is panoramic.

meta, this game is not dull or static. ;) It’s very good and feels very much like an HP Lovecraft adventure game, I like it.
