Interesting looking release came out about an hour ago by SKIDROW. This game reminds me of  the old Wing Commander: Privateer games which was awesome when it came out (in 1993 lol).

Dark Horizon is a third person arcade style space shooter set deep into the future. The galaxy is threatened to be overwhelmed by a dark force known as the Mirk. You take the role of a novice Guardian – an elite fighter pilot who, although infected with Mirk yourself, strives to give humanity and the other sentient races in the galaxy a chance to win against the enemy onslaught. The story picks up with the good guys having just discovered a way to defeat the Mirk by using a special weapon, The Light Core, but it’s not ready yet so you and your squadron mates must defend the Light Core outpost while the work on the project is completed.

Game features:

  • 22 missions and extensive customization opportunities
  • Allows full customization of your spaceship on a detailed level
  • Gather resources and disassemble unused parts of your ship and use them to create weapons and improve your ship to create the ultimate space vessel
  • Fight in team with other pilots trough fierce battles, give orders and use tactics to take out your enemies
  • Choose between two different modes that will change your fighter’s performance according to your own demands: shadow mode to stealth through enemy lines and corter mode that will level up the power of your weapons

    Remember: this game is a Prequel from TARR Chronicles.

    IGN rated this game: 6.0/10
    Presentation: 4.0
    Graphics: 8.0 (you can see the images provided)
    Sound: 5.0
    Gameplay: 8.0 (and lacks joystick support – at least Z-Axis)

    Dark Horizon features nearly two dozen missions and all sorts of extras, yet it ultimately feels repetitive.
    A multiplayer component would have helped.

    Tarr chronicles I think i played but the controls and the weapons sucked so bad i stopped playing it. The graphics were kind of cool though

    If they only could handle the corruption, it might actually be better with a “communism”, not the soviet system of course. But I read somewhere they had democratically elected part-of-town-councils (dont know how to say it better) and such. But with the state, comes the corruption so would not work.

    Please dont use upoadjockey guys,
    One; you will get adware, spyware, and tons of poups,
    two: the people who link to that site get money for doing so. That is against scene rules, and the good guys that take the time (and risk prison) to bring you this stuff dont want others to be lining their pockets from their work.

    Whoop!

    I’ve been looking forward to this for a while and would have bought it on Friday when it was released but could I find it in retail? Not a chance, even though it had definitely been released.

    I tried Game, Gamestation, Asda, Tesco and 2 indie’s before giving up. They certainly can’t chalk this one up to piracy, I couldn’t even buy the bloody thing even though I wanted to!

    Yep! Not only do they sell games now but they have a massive electrical range called Tesco Direct that sells furniture, TV’s, stereos, fridges, DIY accessories and pretty much every thing else you could possibly ever want as well as having their own mobile phone network.

    There’s really no z-axis control on this? How could they possibly put time and effort, even if it’s a cheapo game, and leave that out of a space flight sim type game? Unbelievable. I think I’ll still download it on the assumption I can make it work somehow, plus I just have to see for myself.

    Maybe I’ll read some reviews first.

    verdana is a font, it’s probably missing on your comp.

    After the brifing the screen goes black. Same happens with tutorial. Wont load.

    Dont get this crap. Incompatible to ffdshow. You cant even play it straight for one hour cos it crashes constantly. This is real fubar.
