HEre’s the latest episodes of BBC’s drama history music series Dancing On The Edge.
The band still have not achieved the fame they so desire, and are stuck playing children’s birthday parties at the Imperial Ballroom. Louis starts to feel frustrated and they are introduced to wealthy recluse Lady Lavinia Cremone who might be able to change their fortunes. She arranges a special performance for them to play in front of Prince George and invites a producer from the BBC and a record company executive to see them perform. Julian becomes really taken with singer Jessie and takes her out for a spin in a brand new car. The band are invited to play for the Prince of Wales and the Royal Air Force at an RAF dinner. Jessie pretends to be ill when Julian promises to introduce her to a Hollywood film producer.
The police interview Louis about what happened on the night of Jessie’s attack and he tells them that he saw Julian when he should have been on a train to Paris. A table of racist Germans walks out during a performance at the Imperial Hotel’s Christmas Lunch leaving the band feeling unnerved but Stanley later engineers a fitting revenge. Lady Cremone host a New Year’s Eve party on her estate.
