does this really increase internet speed? For instance if im downloading at 33 kbps max, could this really increase it at all?

It will definetly improve your d/l and u/l speed. But you can improve that yourself. perform a couple speed test to get an accurate reading of your d/l and u/l speed then just configure settings to what you get.. also run out of a port somewhere in the 60000 cause most default settings are tracked…
ps.. most clients will allow you to tweak this
