No "Bad Moon Rising"?
Not worth downloading
Kinda funny how they all look like school teachers there.
have some respect, CCR is one of the greatest rock band of all time — i doubt that this will be a huge money maker for them, since people only like to buy up lil wayne and fall out boy records nowadays
12
because fall out boy is a better band then these losers. they sound like hippie stoners strumming on guitars in their bedrooms where fob actually has talent, are creative, and bring a new style with every song they make.
Classics but where are Green river and Commotion?
The best 2 tracks from them.
Fall Out Boy is better than CCR? LMFAO! Now I have heard it all. Fall Out Boy is pretty good but pales in comparison to one of the best rock bands of all time. #12, my friend, it is time to broaden your musical horizons. There is so much good music to discover from both the past and present.
#14
FOB wouldn't even be around if not for the talent and ingenuity of Classic Rock bands like CCR and their contemporaries. CCR has more talent and creativity in one strand of their gray hair than FOB has in their whole heads. Show some respect to your elders!
Fall Out Boy better than Creedence Clearwater Revival? Next we'll be hearing that Same Difference did more for music than The Beatles. Hah-ha, kids these days, eh.
Thanks for this one, nice job. CCR are better than FOB, no doubt, CCR is a classic group, FOB is just a talented group.
17 yea actually they are. their music is more complex and their compositions make ccr seem like a high school band that are stoned on drugs 24/7.
In terms of talent, if the two faced off in a competition today, FOB would win hands down. ccr uses very basic rythyms and drumbeats with lyrics that are nothing unique. i guess if you are a hippie they are a good band to smoke a joint and mellow out to but in terms of talent you cant even compare them with fob, most other bands of today and even most bands from their own time are much more talented and write more complex music.
just cause a composition is complex doesnt make it good. good music is simple an sweet. but hey its up to you to decide. take it easy soulja boy
hey tonight and have your ever seen the rain. are probably the best songs they have.
bout time some real americana/roots music was posted.
what about postin some modern rockabilly/psychobilly bands and americana/roots music even swing like brian setzers band.
forget about all these rappers that sound the same.u want real rap go back and listen to Ice T or NWA.
Wow are people REALLY saying Fall Out Boy is better than CCR? I guess there aren't many people on here over the age of 20 that even know who CCR are.
That being said, it's a great album of covers, hence why a lot of classics aren't on the album. Check out their version of 'Heard it through the grapevine.' The CD's worth a download for any CCR fan.
Next thing you know someone will say Fall Out Boy is better than the Beatles/Zeppelin/Pink Floyd. Kids. These. Days.

These Days. Joy Division. Now *that's* a great song.
OK First off John Fogerty is a genius…CCR was amazing (although this is cover crap is a bit annoying to me). Not puting FOB down, but to compare them to CCR?? Are you going to tell me that Pete Wentz was a better bassist than John Entwistle (sp?)
#9 and #15….maybe you didnt read the album nfo…they are COVERS that CCR has done. Bad Moon Rising, Hey tonight, and have you ever seen the rain were all originally written by Fogerty therefore not covers
BTW…I know John Entwistle was the Whos bassist not CCR, it was just a point to someone who thinks FOB is better than CCR. Clearly they have no knowledge or taste in music so maybe they dont even know who the Who or John Entwistle are
Also, I know I spelled putting wrong
I'm honestly intrigued, this to me is a group that I have never heard of.
Can someone with a bit of sense point me in the direction of a good album by them that I could check out.
Thanks in advance.
@30 Cosmo's Factory
Thanks @31 jimbo
I'll give it a go.
@28 Totally agree with you there, John Fogerty is a musical legend. I got the chance to see him live last year and the stories his music tells, just, you can tell this man has experienced so many things in life, and that kind of lyrical content is just something you could never find in music from bands such as Fall Out Boy.
For any of the people who are claiming FOB to be better than CCR, go give songs like "The Midnight Special", "Lookin' Out My Backdoor", "Fortunate Son" or "Suzie Q" a listen.
And for the record, I'm 20 which kinda means I should be part of the generation who would be listening to bands like FOB, and even then I can appreciate a band such as CCR.
CCR is a legendary band. Fallout Boy is a modern band that will likely be forgotten in 30 years.
Without CCR, there wouldn't be Nirvana and lots of other American rock bands.
BTW, I was born after 1980. Music is subjective, so I don't bash what other people listen to. If they want to "rock" to Britney Spears, then that's their business, but I do have issues with idiots putting down music that is legendary. I don't like the Stones, but I sure have nothing but respect for them. Several hundred million people in the world cannot be all "wrong."
The idiot who thinks that complex music somehow triumphs over simpler compositions shouldn't even listen to rock or to anything with guitars –except crazy jazz. Classical would then be the best, by default, right? Fool.
Here is a link about them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creedence_Clearwater_Revival
I am from that generation and enjoyed their music without drugs or being a hippy. They were a very original group that were in it for the music alone. All very talented and dedicated to their music. They are legends. But one amazing fact of that group was they never had a #1 selling record. Numerous #2's but never a #1.
I have teenage kids who enjoy FOB and I let them listen to their music uninterupted by me and as loud as I can stand it. It is not bad music, but legendary….not. More complex, possibly, but today you have computers and remixers etc, that you did not have in those days. Just guitars, drums and whatever else showed up on stage. The complexity to the music comes from the electronics engineering more than the raw talent of the musicians. That is what many do not recognize today about music. One man or one girl on stage alone with a guitar and a mike playing a simple song can sometimes be more engaging than a whole symphony.
CCR in my opinion the greatest rock-band ever, my personal favourite is ramble tamble, how they change to the different parts in this song is f…ing awesome !
@21, you're comparing a band who recorded from 68-72 with a band who's first full album came out in 2003.
To put this into some perspective, The Beatles' Sgt Pepper came out the year before CCR's self-titled first album, and Pepper was recorded entirely on outdated 4-track tape recorders. While CCR were lucky to have access to both 16 and 8 track recorders, they had big drawbacks (quite a lot of bleed across tracks).
Also, the microphones available make an enormous difference to the 'quality' of a recording – CCR generally used almost exclusively Shure SM56 dynamic mics (dynamic mics generally sound 'muddy') – condenser mics (more detailed and 'bright' sounding) were available, but these were expensive and relatively fragile (especially compared to today's equivalents) so it was pretty rare for these to be used on drums/guitar amps/vocals etc.
Lastly, CCR were deeply rooted in the recording ethos of the day – the fundamentals of each song were recorded live in a single room, with little separation between instruments (this makes a detailed mix almost impossible to achieve, but also tends to give the music a sense of power and energy – if the performance is good) before overdubbing the lead vocal and any instrumental solos.
Compare all this with the technology available to Fall Out Boy in 2003 – essentially unlimited track count thanks to computers, relatively inexpensive and durable condenser (and even ribbon and tube) microphones, not to mention MUCH cleaner signal chains (which is a good or a bad thing depending on your taste), and on top of all that, in the meantime recording ethos has moved towards tracking each instrument individually, allowing for better separation and a more 'hi-fi' sound.
And that's before we even get on to the tonal and technological changes amplifiers and pickups have gone through.
Also, don't forget that back in the late-60s, 'swamp-rock', that style of country-tinged rock with moody grooves, sounded very fresh and unusual. Sgt Pepper may have indicated a move to more complex pop music, but there was still a huge market for simple rock songs, and CCR were just one of the bands who capitalised on this.
So in short, you're comparing a banana to a fish, and complaining that the fish isn't yellow – you're partly right, but I wouldn't want to eat banana and chips.
Oh and @ Frado and slskr – It's hardly the band's fault that their record company want to make a bit of money (it's the record company who'll have decided to release this, not Fogerty et al.)
Well said #37. There is a distinct difference in how we hear and enjoy music for everyone. But those who have "played" an instrument of any kind, appreciate it a lot more from a good band. And it often does not matter the genre. As an aside my favourite of CCR and penned by Fogarty was Down on the Corner. You can even find it on YouTube as are others of theirs. There really was a bar in San Diego by this name, with great music, long ago.
