Crayon Physics Deluxe release 51 WinXPVista Retail-CRD
Just wanted to point you at Crayon Physics Deluxe released by Crude, where you draw shapes with your mouse to guide a ball. It’s a stunning physics game.
Crayon Physics Deluxe is a 2D physics puzzle game, in which you get to experience what it would be like if your drawings would be magically transformed into real physical objects. Solve puzzles with your artistic vision and creative use of physics.
What makes Crayon Physics so entertaining is that there are a number of different ways to solve each level, thanks to the fact that no one is going to draw the same things in exactly the same way. It requires players to be creative and solve each puzzle through whatever means they can conceive, as opposed to only having one convoluted method as the only solution.

A year or three ago I played the first version of this game, frustrating as hell to read everytime 'ready when it's done'.
And here it is! Man, this game is inventive and great to understand and play.
Im gonna see if its fun, then i might buy the game.
Come on guys, support the indie developers!
Looks like a really innovative game. But there is no way in hell I'm going to buy it! Hey, at least I'm being honest instead of those people who say they will buy just to look good…
If the guy wants to make money, he should sell this to Nintendo. This would be a big hit with the DS! That's how you make money, not by staying 'indy'.

Wow! Just wow! I've never been into puzzle games before, but this and World of Goo are some of the best games I've played recently. I love the fact that games like these allow you to think creatively and laterally instead of just trying to seek a predetermined solution.

@QuadrupelQ: While I'm sure the developers appreciate your honesty (they'd appreciate you buying it perhaps a little more though), it is not as easy as simply getting nintendo on the phone and that's it. Getting a game published is harder than making the game. I for one will be buying this game though.

Thanks for posting.
If you people are wondering who you are stealing from, it's me. I find it ironic that you say, "Buy the game" and in the next post is a link to illegally download the game. I wish you could experience 1/100th of the time and effort I have given to create a good game for the public. Only then would you appreciate the energy spent to create this game. I find it hard to believe that with all the money you people spend on RapidShare accounts, Usenet subscriptions and fast internet connections, that you can't spend $20.00 and actually buy the game. Big game companies aren't killing small developers, you people are.
Petri
Petri:
You need to GTFO. This is a pirate site and if we want to evaluate the game..we will. Now GET OUT.
this was rubbish as a webgame and i dont see how giving you $20 will make it any better
Petri: Please understand that with the amount of crap, buggy releases and second rate console conversions we're being subjected to, people such as myself are very reluctant to spend any money on a game before we know it's worth it.
I bought 3 games from Steam recently (Bully, Silent Hill 5 and GTAIV) and have requested refunds for all 3 because they simply don't work.
I have tested this game. It works great and I love it. I will be buying it! I hope it will encourage you to produce more great games like this because I would much rather give people like you my money, than the lazy bastards at Rockstar and their like.
@ Petri LOL u should be thanking Rlslog if it werent for them or the people here i wouldnt even know wabout this game LOL
@38 - Thanks.
Just checked out the demo on http://www.crayonphysics.com/
I'll buy it! Yes I am honestly - BUT then I found out that there are almost a carboncopy out there: zany doodle http://www.zanydoodle.com/.
@38: You had the idead first or..? Did you get ripped off?
What's the story?
"A game which is very similar to Crayon Physics Deluxe has recently been released, called Zany Doodle. Its creator, Thomas Loreit, justified his creation by saying "the development of this game started long before it was even announced that [Crayon Physics] will be made into a real game and I think you know that developing software is a little bit more work than having an idea"
But I'll support any good indie game, you have to try BRAID also it's awesome! (dunno if it's only on the x360live but great never-the-less) Some indie games just give you the "touch and feel" of the good old C64 and A500 days! YES!
…not everything is graphics!
Quite funny how you can read "I'll buy the game" all over the place but not a single post stating "I bought the game!".
@41 (Shane): While it is true that the mentioned games truly suck when it comes to usability (not the games itself), I won't let your excuse count here as there are lots of reviews about games today, so don't tell me you didn't know GTA IV is crapware before you bought it.
@Petri Purho:
Played the webgame with some friends after getting totally wasted, it was a good fun, so thank you.
It's obviously is a project you've enjoyed making, has little bugs and complex mathematics, so it will look great on your CV. However, it's not like it you had to sell your house to create this game.
Most indie musicians make just enough, or less money of their CD's and gigs to cover their expenses; while they spent over a thousand hours of writing, rehearsing and recording. So what's your excuse for charging $20 for your game?

@38
Dude if you are that desperate to earn $20 then drop to your knees and open your mouth & I will break out my crayon.
BTW didn't your last name used to be Dish?
@38 Petri,
Never heard of this game before. But with all the props from people at Rslog, I may take a look.
BTW, I do spend $$$ to buy games. I recently bought UT3 (four copies, two I gave as Xmas gifts and two to play on my hone LAN). I also bought Quake 4.
In the last year I bought Supreme Commander, SC Forged Alliances, NWN 2, Empire Earth III, Sins of Solar Empire, SW Empire at War, SW Forces of Corruption and a bunch of others.
Over the years, I can honestly say that I've paid for hundreds of games. And I have the original CD cases and boxes scattered throughout my room and closet.
I have no issues with DL a game and seeing if I like it or even if I can get into it. I've discovered more games from these sites than any retail store, video game show or other online sources.
And I get really p*ssed off when I pay from something that's cr*p.
So perhaps you can save the guilt trip for someone else. Frankly, you are getting more marketing exposure for this product than you could probably ever afford. Use this to your advantage instead of complaining about it.
Thank everyone for the positive comments about the game and ask nicely to support your efforts with a donation, even if it's not $20.

@#38 Petri
"Don't be evil." if you really wanted to make money out of this, make it into an internet app and use the T-shirt economy+built in advertising. think of it as a class room. some of us spend 4 hours making a packet and yet we still share, everyone else shares their work with us.
It is worth its weight in gold… or $20 bucks in this case.. please buy if you can
The comments here are unbelievable. So you think the developer has to explain why he dared to charge money for that? He is desperate because he wants you to pay for his work? Are you guys brain-damaged? It's his work, he can charge what ever the hell he wants and you pay or you don't but then you don't get to use it. Having Crayon Physics and any other game is a privlige, not a right.
I'm no angel myself when it comes to let's say usage of questionable sources but guys, stop making up pathetic excuses for why you fleece the developer of his money.
Who cares if you spent 4 hours making whatever package? If you feel like, start charging money for it, it is your damn right and so is it Petri's right. If you don't agree, don't buy/use.
@57 (Smithy): Ok now that you bragged about how cool you are, let's boil your post down to facts: You want to try a game before paying hard money. This is reasonable, then get the predecessor, "Crayon Physics", the awesome little game that got the hype started. He should be glad his game got posted on a warez page? Are you serious? What do you think makes him more money, 5 paying customers or 500 leechers? Hint: It's not the latter.
Once again, stop making up pathetic excuses. And spare me with "Woah you're an idiot for taking this so serious bla bla", I just can't stand the average warezer's attitude.
Addendum: I just noticed there's an actual demo of Crayon Physics deluxe and it is thrown in your face right at the front page.
Please support Petri and buy this game ! is one of best puzzle games ever made.
@62 Someone
THE POWER OF PROMOTION
Firstly, see the list of stuff I do pay for, this is obviously something that I would never even consider let alone know about.
So trying to make money from the public doesn't know about is kind of hard. This is basics of marketing and promotion, whether tradition ad, radio, tv or viral marketing which I would actually include things like rslog. Promotion is promotion, but I'll talk about this a bit more later.
TRANSFERENCE OF SPENDING
Leechers not pay for stuff. This is crap. Of course they pay for things (just not everything, and frankly they probably couldn't even if they wanted to unless they are Bill Gates or Warran Buffet or other person with a bottomless pool of cash).
Ultimately, a consumer, leecher or whatever you want to call them is going to pick and choose what they will pay for.
What I call the transference of spending, which is spending money on other things for something that people get for free (legal or not).
In this case, money that would/could be spent on software/games/videos/music etc (ie content) is being transfered to pay for better processors, better video cards, more computer memory, bigger LCD, larger HDs, wireless networks, high speed access, DVD-Rs, CD-Rs, surround sound systems, MP3 players, Rapidshare accounts (I hate Rapidshare btw) in order to take advantage of this "content". Is this fair that these vendors are getting much of the benefit of the content. No, it's not. But I'm not trying to argue fairness, just the fact that leechers do spend money.
THE LIMITS OF CONSUMERISM
As mentioned, there's also a limit to how much a person can spend. Let say you have only $1,000/year (from allowance, part-time job, budgeted etc) to spend on games/software/videos/music whatever, you'll spend the $1,000 on what you think is important and want to support.
If there is $1,100, $1,200 or even $10,000 in games/software/videos/music you want, what do you do? You can do without, yes. This would be the correct and honest thing to do. But after the $1,000 is spent, the extra leeched $100, $200 or $9,000 is not lost sales or revenue to the developer/artist. This money would have never been spent because the money doesn't exist to spend. This a hard concept for many people grasp.
THE PRICE IS RIGHT
The key for any developer/artist/marketers/promoter is how to convince (promote) the leecher/consumer to spend part of that $1,000 on their product instead of someone else's product (basically have that other competing product leeched instead).
Now, let's look at price point (and yes he's entitled to charge whatever he wants). But if he want to maximize his sales/revenue, he needs to think beyond 5 customers paying $20 vs 500 leechers. And as mentioned in the previous post, ask for a donation, even if it's $1.00. Most people, even leechers (unless they're really cheap) wouldn't have an issue with given up a dollar. A good example of this the Apple iTunes store which is now the largest seller of music outselling Wal-mart. Money can be made if the price is right.
THE MUSIC INDUSTRY'S FUTURE
On a side note, although money still can made through the sale of music, in reality we've gone back to the 1950s. Today (as in the 50s), music is a promotional tool, meaning that if artists of the future want to make money, they won't do it from the sale of music (because they will give the music away for free to the public). They will make money from concert tours, music licensing to companies, endorsements, sponsorships and merchandising.
THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX
Piracy has been around for a long time, well before the Internet, RLSlog, Rapidshare, MP3s and has never gone away nor will it ever. Right or wrong
Industries that could take advantage of the transference of spending had a better chance to succeed making money (in the past it was cassette tapes and players, video tapes and VCR to name of few).
But like that past technology, anyone who clings to the old ideas (for too long) of generating sales/money (be it the music, video, software industry or a single developer) will eventually lose. You can cry, whine and b*tch about it all you want or you adapt or do both.
And no, I haven't bothered to play this game.
I played the demo, loved, bought the full version and then told all my friends / family about it. Very neat game.
@66 Simon. Good for you. I'm sure Petri appreciates your patronage.
@65 Addendum:
THE PROBLEM WITH TRIAL VERSIONS
Personally, I never check out trial versions. Depending on the limitations, I may not get to experience all the benefits (and more importantly all the issues) that a full version would have.
The concept of trial version (while somewhat valid) is also like a saying to someone buying a house, "oh, you can only look at the living room and can't see any of the other rooms until you pay for the house in full.
Or someone buying a car, "Oh can only test drive the car in the parking lot because you haven't paid for the car in full."
Or if you're buying one for those iTune songs for a dollar, "Oh, you can only listen to the first 30 seconds of the song because you haven't paid for the song in full".
CONTENT HAS BEEN ALWAYS FREE (side note)
The public (consumers/leechers) have grown up with the notion that content is free for a very long time.
They have gotten TV/Movies for free though local TV/network broadcasts and cable (note at one time, networks considered cable TV as piracy). VHS tapes and VCRs, bigger TV and the furniture to display these components were the transference of spending at that time.
People who paid to watch a movie in a theatre, were not just paying for the movie. You could alway watch the movie for free. You just had to wait long enough (a year or longer) before it came on TV. People paid for the convenience of watching it sooner and the experience of seeing it on a huge screen.
The public have alway gotten music free. Turn on the radio in any city and there it is, free music. And I'm sure you know what people did with their cassette tapes back in the day.
People bought LPs, tapes and then CDs, not just to pay for the music, but for better quality and the convenience of listening to it when they wanted to (because you could always hear it for free if you wait long enough for a station to play it).
Books are free. Yes book store have been around for ages. And so have libraries. No one has to pay for a book to read. They can just go to the library and borrow it. And, you know what people did with photocopiers, right? People will buy a book for the convenience of having their own copy and reading it when they want to.
Like movies and music, many people consider software/games as another form of content. Like in the past with all other content, the public at large has no real issues with getting it for free. Whether this is right or wrong is not my concern, this is the perception. Again, you can complain about it all you want or adapt.
ADAPTING TO THE NEW DISTRIBUTION
The problem now is that the producers of music/movies/books have always thought people were paying for their content. In fact, people were not (at least not entirely). People were also paying for better quality, convenience and/or an experience (in case of movies).
With MP3s, AVIs, MPEGs, PDFs offering equal quality to DVDs, CDs, books, the better quality benefit is gone. With the Internet, Rapidshare and Torrents allowing you to get what you want on demand, the benefit of convenience is gone. And with LCD projectors, large LCD/Plasma TVs and surround sound, the movie experience benefit is disappearing (This is why small movie theatres have practically vanished being replaced by the mega-movie theatres with super large screens, at least in my city)
This brings me back to thinking outside the box. Since the traditional benefits of content are gone or disappearing, offering just the content and expecting people to pay for it (like it or not) is a lost battle (not losing, lost).
New perceived benefits need to be added to the content to convince people to spend their limited amount money on that content item instead of something else. This is how Petri or any of those other industries will make money.
Anyway, I still haven't played this game.
>Most indie musicians make just enough, or less money of their CD's and gigs to cover their expenses; while they spent over a thousand hours of writing, rehearsing and recording. So what's your excuse for charging $20 for your game?
You really have absolutely no idea how much effort goes into creating a game like this, do you? It's kind of disheartening to see such plain idiocy on display.
I wrote a pretty long post this night and it seems like it got lost or whatever. I basically said:
Wow Smithy, what the hell, did you copy some blog post about the MI and tried to adapt it to this case? Well… done.
But thanks for mentioning the MI, people downloading music are even more pathetic than you. You know what? Listening to music is a privilege either, you pay you listen, you don't you don't listen, it's as easy as that. What made people think that if something seems unfair to them, they may ignore rules/laws? Does anyone ever go into a shop and steal things that are too expensive (Spare me with "but copying is no physical stealing", you get the point). The reasoing is even better "Well the MI charges too much money, so I take the right to download their music", "The MI makes crappy music and casting bands… so I download their music (wait, didn't you just say it makes crappy music?)" and so on. We as the customers have the power for god's sake. If we don't like the pricing policy, stop buying their music and even more important: Don't download, it gives the MI the strongest weapon at their hands because they can reason all their doings with "Well, piracy forced us to do this and that", but the average leecher is a dimwit from my experience, just as Smithy here demonstrates.
So, back to topic:
You say (well, your copied blog post says but you posted it…) you don't like trials. Well, you know there are time trials with full access to every feature locked to 30 days. You probably don't know that cracking time trials is amongst the easiest things to crack. Do you think someone would let you test drive a car if the change of you stealing it was above like 1%? I doubt it but on computers you can't ask for you ID so they can sue your ass if you don't return the car so deal with it.
And last but not least: What do you think made the author write the commercial version in the first place? The huge success of Crayon Physics, of course. People KNEW about the game, people DEMANDED a full version of Crayon Physics. Do you really (as in really) think, Mr. Purho NEEDS promotion on a page full of dishonest leechers, in a post alongside about 10 links to some rapidshare download? As I said earlier, your excuses keep being pathetic. Go away with your wannabe economics knowledge.
Great game. I bought it. 15€ is like 3 beers where I live. My friends really liked the game and usually they are not interested about any games.
i read all the posts here and I agree with #62, this guy put most likely years of his life into this game he could have spent that time working for a salary but he took a risk that if he made a good game people would pay for quality, he deserves to make money from this.
I don't think anyone here can hand on their heart say that downloading any game,movie,album is right. I do it, but i am not proud of it. If everyone was like us would there be any games,music or movie industry. If you couldn't make a living from it how would your favourite band ever have been able to justify giving up a normal job to go full time?
Would you work for a number of years full time if you though you were not going to make a cent.
To those who say "i download to test it and then I buy", fair enough (there is alot of crap games) but how many on here actually do buy it (or uninstall if they don't buy).
I played the game, I liked it, not enough to spend $20 on it so I am uninstalling and deleting the download.
I know this post will get flamed but most on here know it is true.
@Someone
So did you download and play this game? And more importantly did you pay for the $20?
Because it seems that couple of those leechers that don't pay for games actually did fork out the cash. (I'm assuming that they leech, cause their posting on this site. Otherwise, why are they on here?)
And no, I didn't copy my blog from somewhere, but it would have been easier if I did.
And no, I still haven't play this game.
Addendum:
I did watch this video presentation a while back (a year or two ago). "Piracy is good?" http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1720068211869162779
So, some of the ideas may have been stuck in my head.
'When you copy something and claim it as your own it, that's plagiarism. When you copy something and reference where you got it, that's research'

Bury your head in the sand and suffocate. Or adapt and profit.
And I still haven't played this game.
God damnit I wrote another longer post and rlslog decided to drop it again.
Even if the studies regarding music and books may be true, it doesn't suggest it behaves the same with games. Above study mentioned the main reasons for music downloading as a) Song not available elsewhere - well CRD is available right at the front page of its page b) didn't want to by whole CD for single song - model doesn't apply for game distribution c) wanted to hear the song first - get the CPD demo, get the predecessor.
The study regarding the book is different, too. This example seems authentic to me, because I could imagine people downloading ebooks, enjoying the first few pages but would want to read it on paper in the bed so they buy it, point accepted. Problem is, the warzed CPD offers everything the purchased one does, as I said this doesn't apply to books. Same as music, you get to pick single songs, basically pre-listen them etc. So once again, not comparable and the conclusion rlslog helped to sell CPD is not valid to me.
I'll let this be my last post as there is no really use in arguing over the internet and eventually we don't do any good to anyone. You have your opinion, I have mine. I think I can live with you keeping yours

@Someone, You call leechers, me and the public pathetic all you want, but it's the people who argue/cling to the past are real ones that are pathetic.
Adapt or die. Simple.
@77 Someone.
Your post and my addendum post were probably fighting to get on at the same time
Anyway, yes you are right. Opinions will differ and this is good. In the end only time will tell which will be correct.
The fears of piracy in music a few years ago are now starting to disappear. Only time will tell if this will be true of the gaming industry.
In the end, my belief is the public like in other industry will do the right thing and support the people that give them joy, directly.
Cheers. And nice debating with you.

could anyone please upload to Megashares and post link? thanks heaps in advance.
@38, thank you for the game Petri. I always like to see ewho I am stealing from, I am not one to run behind a little old lady and snatch her purse, but face to face is another story.
