Hello! One of my favorite tools pre’d a while ago in the scene. 0-Day group EDGE bring it to us with a keygen, enjoy! :)
Note:
1.) It appears that some people don’t know how to use this tool, I wrote a quick Tutorial.
2.) There is a Virus-Alert if you are trying to extract the keygen. Don’t worry, there are serials supplied in the comments.

Synopsis: The CoreCodec CoreAVC High Definition H.264 video codec is based on the MPEG-4 Part 10 standard and is the video codec used in AVCHD, Blu-Ray and in HD-DVD. H.264 is the next-generation standard for video, and CoreAVC™ is being recognized as being the world’s fastest H.264 software video decoder.

The efficiency of CoreAVC in ’software’ is often compared to be faster than other solutions that try to rely on ‘hardware’ to increase playback performance of H.264 video.

#8, it’s for more than older machines. It’s for any machine that you want to play x264 without taxing the cpu as much. When I play 1080p, rather than both cores being in the 90’s they are around 40%.

Actually VLC uses internal decoders based on ffmpeg. ffdshow is also based on ffmpeg but is much better implemented (faster). Latest ffdshow ICL 10 build:

ESET notifies me of a virus in the RS link. Any confirmation?

  33. April 18th, 2008 | 16:57

    @29, alex

    COREAVC TUTORIAL:
to use this decoder do this:
    download media player classic:
    http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=205650&package_id=245753

    download CoreAVC

    open the media player classic
    press “O” for options
go to the “External Filters” tab
    klick “add filter”
    browse for “CoreAVCDecoder.ax”
its somewhere like: C:\Program Files\CoreCodec\CoreAVC Professional Edition

press “prefer” on the right of the external filters.
    then download the ac3 filter ( http://ac3filter.net/ )
install it. and do the same process again only with the ac3 filter (ac3filter.ax)

press apply or ok and thats it :)

    April 18th, 2008 | 18:14

    CCCP+CoreAVC=WIN!

Download CCCP from http://www.cccp-project.net/ and install it. Disable H264 in FFDShow settings and install CoreAVC then restart and profit.

Oh btw. For those of you who’re using VLC as the main media player then I’d advise you to update VLC now if you are using VLC version 0.8.6e or lower. Its fine if you’re mostly using it to play the usual avis but once you start trying to play mkv/ogm along with subtitles, then you’re screwed.

Its got something to do with the way the subtitle is parsed and somebody figured out a way to hack into your comp due to the buffer overflow of it and install some nasties without you ever noticing it.

    VLC open source >.>

    April 18th, 2008 | 18:47

@John: Sure does. It’s a 32 bit decoder though which means you will need to use the 32 bit version of WMP (the standard one) or any other DirectShow-based media player.

i can play 720p files on my PC fine, only thing is i meet the requirements. for 1080p but they are completely unplayable. probably cuz i got a $h1tty FX5500.

  48. blunden
    April 18th, 2008 | 22:52

@TheEnd187: These don’t use DXVA acceleration from the GPU as far as I know, so your FX5500 shouldn’t make a difference.

Core AVC seems to be amazing. I havent tried this version but I have an 800mhz, 8mb Pro Savage Video card, Intel Pentium III, with 248mb of total ram and this baby plays 720p decently on my stone aged machine!

If it can play decently on my PC, then more than likely it can play a lot better on yours.

    April 19th, 2008 | 06:39

A standard install of media player classic will play 264 videos fine. Performance-wise my machine can play about 4 videos simultaneously so I’m not worried about that. Is the playback quality any better than the one included with MPC. I’m not sure what one MPC uses.

  58. mexprettyboy13
    April 19th, 2008 | 06:42

Hey the 1080p mkv files play fine on my vista home premium 32 bit.The only thing is that it changes the “color scheme” to windows vista basic.Anyway to fix that?Thanxz.

  59. Sam
    April 19th, 2008 | 06:46

#63 I had that same problem and fixed it but forget how. Put those search strings into google because I think this is a common problem and I found my solution there. If not post what codec/codec pack your using and playback software here.

  60. whoa
    April 19th, 2008 | 07:02

Vista Aero theme uses “Overlay Mixer” to render the glass effects… if your player is set to also use Overlay Mixer then Vista will dumb itself down to Basic in order to give the player priority.

Just change the video output to something other than Overlay Mixer in your player and it won’t do it anymore.

Do we need it to use CoreAVC ?

  63. padam
    April 19th, 2008 | 10:07

If you have trouble playing movies even with CoreAVC you can also try SuperSpeed Mode in KMPlayer and disable the deblocking feature. It worked for me.

  64. April 19th, 2008 | 15:06

yep works pretty well everything with that setup imho

    @28 Thomas,

“HD video wasn’t watchable in VLC because it stuttered way too”

That’s because the codecs built into VLC are crap.

    @31 M,

“VLC uses FFDshow, try Media Player Classic or something..”

If VLC uses ffdshow, why is it that when I use MPC and ffdshow, a 720p video will stutter and lag somewhat, but when I attempt to play that same video in VLC, I get a virtual slideshow?
