Copying Beethoven 2006 LiMiTED DVDRiP XViD-iKA

Release group iKA published a new dvdrip of musical romance Copying Beethoven this night. While this is quite an unknown title, it stars some well-known actors. I mean mainly Diana Kruger in the main role, who appear in Troy as Helene or in another popular movie Wicker Park. The quality of this release is good, offering the standard quality on 1 CD with MP3 audio.

Classical music aficionado or no, it’s tough not to be moved by the soaring notes of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. The work stands as both a defining highpoint in the composer’s career and a dynamic and beguiling legacy of its era. An imaginative exploration of Beethoven’s life in his final days working on the Ninth, Copying Beethoven draws inspiration from the music itself. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Agnieszka Holland, the film is both thrilling and romantic.

It is 1824. The composer, played brilliantly by Ed Harris, is racing to finish his new symphony. However, it has been years since his last success and he is plagued by deafness, loneliness and personal trauma. A copyist is urgently needed to help the composer finish in time for the scheduled first performance – otherwise the orchestra will have no music to play. Insightful young conservatory student and aspiring composer Anna Holtz (Diane Kruger) is recommended for the position. The mercurial Beethoven is skeptical that a woman might become involved in his masterpiece but slowly comes to trust in Anna’s assistance and in the end becomes quite fond of her.

I guess IKA means nothing to most users, but for us Greeks to have a release group named IKA is totally hilarious…

Liked it 12 years ago, when it was called “Immortal Beloved”

The timespan between remakes or ripoffs goes shorter and shorter :(

mark, duh, one can only do so much on the story of a very famous figure. besides, IB = biopic, CB = last year in a man’s life. not really a remake nor a ripoff is it? besides i’m sure this, like IB, won’t be any ‘amadeus’ so i dont care.

neb, does ika also handle copyright infringement? coz thatd be tons funnier indeed

It’s always nice to see a movie where a deaf traumatized loner gets his share of young blonde tail.

I saw the movie and there were scenes directly taken from immortal beloved and also from amadeus! A complete and terrible ripoff of a movie

this is the worst biopic movie I’ve ever seen, full of the genre’s oldest cliches – like the obscene fartarse artist-genius, or the sickbed dictation and explanations to the uncomprehending copyist. The scene where Beethoven has to conduct the premiere of the 9th should have been the moving centrepiece. Instead, I sniggered through it because of the convulsed copyist, her ridiculous signals and her facial expressions. In fact everything about this film is shit.
