makes me sick to my stomach to think about the racist comments that have been made here. Really saddens me that even today people can find this funny. I have very rarely faced overt racism (well if you call hiding behind your computer screen overt), but I guarantee this will be a blog thread I will tuck away with a few other significant events in my life.

To think that Americans will ever completely outgrow the racism that divides us is simply naive. It just ain’t gonna happen. But the media exacerbates the situation by focusing on race in crime stories. As a consumer of news, I’m not interested in the race of the victims nor the suspects. I AM concerned about the who, what, when, where, why, and how of the story. But there’s is seldom a valid reason to identify the race of those involved. To do so only stokes the fires of racism.
