I present the latest COPS episode courtesy of STFU. The last COPS episode was broadcast December 15, 2007, and so it has been quite a wait since. Officers confront a group of men in a drug infested area, engage in a foot pursuit, and they find a man who is removing tossed-in change from a local water fountain.
This week’s stories include officers who confront a group of shirtless men hanging around in a known drug area; police engage in a foot pursuit of a man who tossed a bag of drugs when confronted; and patrolmen in Las Vegas head to the Mirage Resort, where they find a man who has stolen change from the fountain…twice in the same night.

‘removing change from a fountain’ – I bet $5 the cops needed ‘backup’ apprehending this heinous criminal. There had to be at least 4 coppers there, there has to!

I watched the show. It was rather weak. Scene 1, I thought the cop didn’t have PROBABLE CAUSE to start searching the man initially, the guy was a goofball, is that worth a search ? He shouldn’t have given consent to search anyway.
I can’t believe how many times cops get away with searching people for no good reason in this show, I guess people are intimidated so they’ll give up all their rights immediately.
2nd scene, the cops had no evidence the bag belonged to the black man, they were still trying to pin it on him though, of course he probably had done it, but you need proof when you’re in court, this looked like manufactured evidence to me, you find a bag so it must belong to this guy.
Scene 3 was very pathetic and sad, a poor man trying to fetch quarters from a fountain, wow … I was surprised they were giving him a hard time, they should have let him go, if Dirty Harry hadn’t made him thrown the quarters back (why do that ?) he would have been on his way …. this was really entrapment, unbelievable, I couldn’t believe my eyes the way this unfolded.
