Hello, used to use zonealarm, but that became bloatware and effectiveness has lessened. So i switched to comodo v2.4. That ran well with my old hp compaq tablet running XP SP2. No conflicts with Avira or anti-malware progs. two days ago, i installed comodo v3. Fortunately i set a restore point before the installation. After i installed, i upgraded my spywareblaster, and some bluetooth installer kept popping up. Also, i counldnt access my wireless LAN, despite setting the restrictions on CFP to nil. Worse, all the desktop icons were frozen in place and i couldnt move them... Uninstalled CFP 3 and did a rollback. I may try again later after having upgraded all other programmes first... and set a restore point.

Hey, I don't care what they say. But Comodo has been working REAL fine with my pc. I don't have any problems with it. And it consumes only 8, 928 k of memory usage(I think...lol... Well I looked at Windows Task Manager)And I think svchosts are slowing down your internet connections. (try installing comodo firewall and look at the small portion entitled "Traffic" and you will see... How much it consumes... lol... Currently it is consuming 57.61%... lol...) I am no techie but hey... It works...
BTW I am no COMODO promoter I am just a USER... lol...

Comodo Firewall V2 while not as "secure"as V3 didn't hog cpu /resources or slow down my PC or my Internet connection.

I wish I had never upgraded to V3, machine runs slower, Internet traffic is slower, pop ups don't always warn me that an application is being blocked.

I am not bothering to go back to V2, I could get it to properly uninstall and rebuilt my machine. I'm off to try other products.

To all the people I recommended V2 to to, I DONT recommend V3.

Why'd they have to ruin it.
p.s. despite what has been said in this thread earlier, Comodo has a bad reputation on PRIVACY. Look around, they do collect information via their products.

How am I supposed to uninstall this program. After testing it out - it completly slowed down my fast PC running Vista (don't have any AV software on atm). Attempted to open FireFox, and nothing happened for 15mins because I was waiting for Comodo to detect it being opened.

I've uninstalled the app - but in Device Manager I still have Comodo 'Network adapters' that are preventing all network activity through them. I've tried to uninstalled them but they don't dissapear. Disabling them does nothing either. Zone Alarm was much better when I used it on XP, but I think I'll just stick with the advanced Windows Vista Firewall. It blocks Internet communication by default - is easy to configure - and I have Spybot SD for everything else. Now I just have to find some AV software - and I think I'll be using AntiVir if all goes well.

There are too many Comodo fanboys on the net. I believe there are Comodo staff who are shamelessly promoting this hard-to-remove BLOATWARE. Their new job seems to be, to get onto different sites and promote this CRAPPY FIREWALL, by giving only positive reviews for Comodo, leading other people to read the often "positive" (and BOUGHT AND PAID FOR BY COMODO) reviews and "supposedly unbiased" tests, and thus by giving the other firewalls poor ratings.

Try out some other firewalls for yourself first, then just settle on one that works for you. Don't buy into these "Testimonials" that pressure you to make a decision towards Comodo.

it has absolutely no negative impact on my DL speeds in utorrent. don't know what you're doing, guys, but it's most likely not the software's fault...

i can imagine that it can cause some serious problems if your system is corrupted in the first place. if you really want to make sure you have no problems i recommend to try it after your next fresh windows install.

oh, you don't do regular windows reinstalls? well, good luck with anything. :)

I've used Outpost Pro for a few years now, and after the new release of the recent update to Outpost Pro 2008, I decided to give Comodo another try with their updated version...to see if the system resource usage has been reduced, as the new Outpost has increased it's footprint.

I'm very happy to say that not only have they reduced the footprint of arguably the best firewall available, but they've reduced it to the point that I'm now a convert to Comodo over Outpost.

The leak tests speak for themselves...but more importantly, you can't beat free!

Great job Comodo team!
