kingrichard_sg was right!!

just change the settings of the shader detail to medium instead of low and the GDI campaign worked!!

my mate who owns a mac found that when he increased the settings the game worked better, as a pc user i havent tried this yet, i have a laptop, but im sure it will work the same!

To anyone whos had the same prob as me ie: the game crashes on vista 32 bit when u start playing for eg a skirmish as soon as u lay down a structure it then minimizes and crashes theres a comment in here from a guy saying to set the shadow fader to medium well it works yayyyy thank god works a treat people so if u havin that problem this will fix enjoy the game.

ok here are a few problems solved

1st: if it says no-cd found, please insert the original command and conquer cd – simply downlaod a no-cd key of a website, this will alow you to play the game without a cd inserted.

2nd: if your game crashes or shuts down, either re-install the programm using another instal for it, or download the latest patches for the game. if that fails, then your graphics card might not be good enough, or not supported by the game.

3rd: you cant get online using a non valid key, you can either ask a mate for his user name and pass, if he/she has bought an ‘legit copy’.

you can get the latest no-cd crack (1.7)for it if you type in google ‘gamecopyworld’ u can get them of there!

For those of you that have crashing problems…Ive had the same problem when starting a GDI mission. After about 5-10 minutes the game shuts down with error messages pertaining to direct3d. I reinstalled the game, applied the game patches(up to 1.9), then applied the crack file(1.9).I then started the game and in options menu lowered all my graphic settings to as low as I could. Shader was already at medium so maybe lowering all video settings works better. Then I loaded a NOD campaign first. Played through 2 or 3 missions the started GDI again. Played through 3 missions no problem…The detail looks like hell but its better than nothing.Im running a 256meg ati x1300pro so obviously its a glitch somewhere as this card mated to a amd 3500+ and a gig of ram should really do the trick.

just go to graphics options on the main menu and change the shader detail to medium instead of low. It works!!!!

“hi, i have a problem with command and conquer , it is that the game crashes after after a few min i run the the trainers or if i click on gda or nod campain. i have used the cracks like cncgame.dat ver 1.0,1.1,1.2,1.3 but to no avail. a window pop up comes up after the game crashes, it says something like this

the kane edition crashes either using a trainer or not, i think there are no functional cracks at the moment since i tried many versions of cracks (1.0, 1.09, 1.01)

I have bought Kane edition, but get the “cnc3game.dat has encountered a problem” error message at the splash screen. I have upgraded my graphics card from an nvidia 4mx to a 6600gt (although according to pcpitstop it is only running at 27% optimal performance) and all the other minimum specs are met. Anybody solved this one yet (other than trying a cracked version?)
