Collectorz.com Movie Collector Pro v5.5.3-TE

Well known group TE has released new(est) build of (well known) Movie Collector Pro. Changelog here. Also make sure to read NFO (under NOTE section) for known “100+ search limit from Collectorz.com movie database” issue in cracked versions of this app. Finally it’s all explained.

Description: Catalog your collection of movies and TV series on DVD. Including all movie data (genre, studio, release year, cast, crew, etc.), episode titles and all DVD details (cover images, subtitles, audio tracks, features, etc.).

Adding a DVD to your database is quick and easy, just type the movie title or scan its barcode. The program will then automatically download all data and images from our own online DVD database (currently containing 80 thousand movies and 100 thousand DVD editions). Other data sources include IMDb and Amazon.

Lists your movies in any order, either as list or in Image View. Group them in folders (e.g. by producer or genre). Use the Quick Search feature to find a movie in your database.

Browse your movie collection and start linked movie files directly.

Print a list of all movies or just a selection. Export lists to CSV, HTML or XML format (PRO only). Or export your list to the Notes section of your iPod and check it while in the DVD store (PRO only).

Always know who borrowed your DVDs and forgot to return them.

The Windows edition runs on Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP and Windows Vista, and is available in the following languages: English, Dutch, German, French, Turkish, Polish, Croatian, Italian, Slovenian, Swedish, Greek, Russian, Danish.

With time, I have learned not to trust TE’s (Twisted Ends’) cracks… Even quite a number of web&non/scene groups do a much better job than these amateurs.

This seems interesting. I’m starting to get quite the collection of copied/downloaded movies from over the years. 500+
But I don’t see how it can “Always know who borrowed your DVDs and forgot to return them.” If a friend borrows a movie, does it magically know which one they grabbed? Because I’m not going to make them log it into a damn computer and I’m not gonna turn my computer on to log it in either.

“Export your list to the Notes section of your iPod and check it while in the DVD store (PRO only)”
Netflix, cheaper and more convenient….nuff said

“Adding a DVD to your database is quick and easy, just type the movie title or scan its barcode.” Ya, I’ll just pull a barcode scanner out of my azz and scan it.

    -nuff said

Is this the best app to handle my large collection of DivX movies on DVD’s & my HD ?
Will it automatically know & list the file size and movie duration of my .avi & .mkv files ?

I found that eXtreme Movie Manager is by far the best for managing files on your HDD as you can just scan and search on those, rather than having to import them manually.
I’m guessing this cant yet do that, as it couldnt last time i tried…

MedianMan is a much better application in my humble opinion. It has a more friendly, familiar interface, and the virtual shelves on which you can view your DVDs/CDs/Books really look great. It downloads images and info from Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and other sites. I think it’s catered more to the average user, and it’s very customizable.

Here’s a PORTABLE version of the latest edition of MediaMan. It doesn’t need to be installed, and it’s pre-cracked – just unzip the single .exe file and you’re ready to go! It doesn’t get any easier :)

Tag & Rename is awesome for doing tags, it actually makes tagging bareable. I don’t think it is for cataloguing.
Media Monkey is decent for what’s on your hard drive and making playlists on the go. I don’t use it for much else. I’ve heard recent versions will alter your media files which is why I haven’t upgraded.

As for cataloguing hundreds of data discs(like DVD-R or CD-R) burned with mp3/flac files I haven’t found anything better than Argentum MyFiles. That’s not to say that it’s perfect, but you can quickly see what albums you have and what files you stored with it (i.e. art work or EAC logs/cues, etc.).

There is a free program called “List N View” that is similar but very stripped down – you don’t see past the first level of folders on your discs. I’ve used it since I used up the fairly substantial free demo of Argentum MyFiles.

I don’t remember where I got List N View but here’s the site for MyFiles. I bet some people will buy it.

I tried the MediaMan link above. Seems cool, but there didn’t seem to be a way to just insert a disc full of movies or music albums and have it’s contents scanned.

Very nice program, I’ve been using it for a while and its brilliant for storing your collection.

Does anyone know if it works with WINE though? I’m thinking about moving it onto a Ubuntu computer.
