Colin McRae DiRT PROPER SFCloneDVD-iTWINS
The first Colin McRae DiRT release a couple of days ago had lots of you trying to frustratingly install and play it. This release from iTWINS isn’t ideal because well it hasn’t been cracked which would make things a whole lot easier. Hopefully a fixed .exe should be here shortly. The PROPER reason from iTWINS is that the last version sometimes couldn’t emulate the copy protection properly. The thing is if you did downloaded the last release and you cant get it to work then you will need to download this one to even get a shot at it installed as you cant just replace a file like with cracks. I say a shot at working because the the game needs a really new PC and its quite buggy so it will sometimes refuse to run even if you have done everything properly. This release is about 300MB smaller than the last as well so we know its not from the same source. This a great game but i wouldn’t waste my GB’s on another CLONE if i had downloaded the previous release. A cracked release would end the dilemma for us but StarForce takes some time to crack as I’m sure you know. Decisions decisions…

If you are running vista ultimate like me you dont need a crack just load the image in deamontools and away you go

I had noissues with the other clone and current daemon tools
on a xp sp2 plays perfectly until now. Btw pretty nice and smooth graphics on a 6800gt here (not all the way up but prett y high at 1440×900. I think it runs nicely(speed and graphic wise) even on aged hardware. But i had extreme stutters in the demo but another driver helped to fix that so if you got poor performance check your drivers (wasnt the newest that helped in my case
You didn’t need yasu for the last one, so you probably don’t need it for this one either.
I think it even works better without yasu. (or maybe it doesn’t matter, but it’s certainly not better to use it).
YASU is only SecuROM/SafeDisc emulator it’s NOT StarForce, you’ll need the newest alcohol/daemon tools and to disconnect all optic drivers such as CD/DVD-ROM/RW
and yes Shiny is right GJ doesn’t support SF (guys if you use this program you’re not supposed to be here go to some lame place and spam there how good is GJ)
Just Daemaon Tools 4.09 works with the other clone… Even on my vista64
does this have assignable buttons for each gear? got a G25 wheel, wondering if the sequential shifter would work.
Anyway this release dont work if your system have a RAID massive on ICH8r =(

Peter, with the newest version of daemon tools (v4.09HE) you don’t need to disconnect your drives anymore.

eh??! so the game would quit if it says ‘your hardware sis hit dont try to run it at such high settings’. this is ridiculous. i think it’s my decission how i want the game to look like when i play it.

Works perfectly with Daemon 4.09, you can even play online. Just mount image and install, once installed let the starforce drivers load and then play the game. No probs what-so-ever, Just about to install the update, I will msg if I have any probs with this.

How the hell did anyone manager to download this? I started it as soon as it was posted and my speed has never gone above 5kb/s, I’m 5.5% completed…same goes for this proper.

I am having menu and stuttering problems too.
The game has a nice a gameplay but the engine sucks. System ungry. I prefer flat out 2 which acctually runs without bugs at 60 fps in my system =]

No problems with the older clone (the first one here), loaded up daemon tools and ran the patched version without any problems…
Only thing is the memory leaks the game has,
i run on ultra settings, but sometimes the game laggs and has framedrops…

Hi guys.
There is one very important thing you need to do to run the game:update daemontool’s spdt driver from daemon-tools.com to the latest level.This is the virtual drives driver,and having 4.09 does not mean you have the latest.
After the refresh,/needs reboot/ the game will start with the protection installed,both 1.00 and 1.01 versions.
can some outline the sequence of events to install i,e

reboot to after security notice
run patch etc

I’m also having problems with the protection. Sometimes I get the “emulation detected” message, then other times I’m told the disc is not recognised.
I have tried all the steps out there, updated DT and SPT, YASU, tried MDS and MDF files, DT emulation on and off, disabled my IDE devices and even disconnected drives. No success!
There must be something that some of us have on our system that other people don’t that is affecting the protection.
I have the patch installed and the menu always hangs in diferent parts. i try with and without the patch and always do the same. Stupid next gen of crash games.

im get a dirt.exe error after it checks the disc i rebooted but still does it…seems like it wants to but just can’t seem to…..oh well sure a exe fix will be out soon
Finally got game to work Step 1 : Install DT 4.09HE and update to sptd 1.47.
Step 2 : Mount image
Step 3 : Install game
Step 4 : Install drivers when it prompts you
Step 5 : Reboot
step 6 :cloak with yasa tools
step 7 :Step 6 : Play the game
You dont need a exe crack

so for the people that have xp sp2 and go it working have you kept up with the Microsoft updates or not i think for us that is the problem the automatic updates have spy programs that check for vitural drive programs and such so id bet that after a fresh install of xp sp2 and no updates it will work cauz it makes no sense that it works for some and doesn’t for others if this works we should try the micrsoft updates and narrow down wich one it is probity the gdi detection or genuine advantage up date

Not sure what was wrong with the intro so why this fix my intro was awesome lol.
o i see this allows you to bypass the intro of this and other games listed in the nfo so it speeds up your performance in the game.

I cant get past the emulation software does and body know if this can be edited and burn on a standered dvd or dual lay but will it work if burned or im i wasting my time
For all of you who can’t start the game from this release because of protection:
- if you have harddisks setup in SATA and *NOT* raid on ICH8R controller boards (those are intel, mine is p965 chipset)
then
go to BIOS and disable AHCI controller – harddisks will still work in windows without any speed decrease and the game will start just using damon tools 4.09 (no yasu needed)

For those who are waiting a crack for this game i can tell you there isnt going to be a crack becouse all starforce games dont have cracks (only starforce 1 and 2 maybe have cracks) I was waiting 1 year for a crack to come out for 2 of my games with starforce but they didnt. And why are there many ways to make this game work and they dont work.

I have windows vista. For the last 2 days i have been trying to get dirt to run. Keep on getting the same problem… Emulation software detected or wrong disk inserted. I cant find a working *.mds file. The ones i download from most of the torrent sites wont moun t in deamon tools. updating deamon tools plus the new sptd drivers makes no differance at all. Any help or link that will work.
I got mine to work after getting the latest daemon tools and sptd, THEN installing the starforce drivers.
I tried installing the starforce drivers with the old versions THEN patching, but didn’t work.
I also updated the game to 1.1

eysele read my post on disabling ahci/raid from bios. that solves the emulation software problem.
stumped… no problems at all with disabled ahci/raid. no instability either. perfectly ok to have it disabled. ive been running for 6 months. no speed issues either. and even faster boot (you knock off couple of secs at post)

hope by changing the setting in bios dosen over wright my dell system restore hidden as d,f drive on the c drive
On Miki’s advice I changed by drives from raid to IDE in the bios. Windows installed the drivers, reset and DiRT runs fine now without YASU, Emulation or anything.
It’s a bit of a boring and noisy game though. I miss the days of Lotus and Jaguar XJ220. Now they were engrossing racing games!
kufojohn thankyou for the link. Maby it is a vista problem but every *.mds file i download deamon wont mount.It says unable to mount image file not accessible. I have uninstalled Deamon tools update the sptd drivers and reinstalled everyting. Stil no luck. Any advice? Do you have a link for a working mds file?

unable to mount image file not accessible ok i had that error before i got the game to work and i first got it using the lastest version of dameon tools 409he so i downloaded 408 and game mounted ok installed then i update 4.08 to 4.09he i then unmonted and remounted game with dameon tools 408he and installed SPTD v149×86 and then used latest yasa tools to hide the drives,remember if it doesnt work first up uncloak then recloak and or reboot pc good luck.

hmm that crack doesn’t appear to be working for me.. it starts to load up DiRT but i then get a black screen for a few seconds and then crashes to the desktop with no error message

Check the games specs maybe the game dosent work on your pc.

You most likely do not have a SSE2 CPU
Which is required to play the game.

In regard to the menu stuttering/pausing problem…
Im getting the same gitch as a few other people have posted about. The game is fine once im racing but navigating the menus is just a pain. At random Im getting what seems like a lockup for about 5-10 seconds with looping sound, after a while it just come back to life. The continues all the time im in any menu and while the game loads races.
Very frustrating indeed. My dirt is fully patched, I have looked all over the dirt forums at codemasters web site and found zero!
If anyone comes up with a solution be sure to post here and make some people very happy

After i start it it says checking disc. One time it said something like disc not inserted or wrong disc
i updated to 1.01. does that have anything to with it. im runing vista premium. i mounted with daemon. then installed. then ran updated. rebooted. loaded game then it said checking disc. then it said dirt has stopped working.
would it be better if i burned it to a dvd
Hey, I’ve read up on all the updates and what not,,
but the thing is, once I found the No-CD crack on gamecopyworld.com and used it, I only get a Microsoft error message saying that something is wrong with the .exe file.
With that said, does anyone know where I can get the original exe file or any way to fix this?

how do you save the gave without it saying save data corroupt when the game is started again.
If you cannot get it to work try and remove copression from your harddrive that you have the iso on, and uncompress the file using cmd.exe ad the ntfs command compress /C|*file* /U hope that helps.

Everything installed great. I am running an AMD 64 4200 with Win XP 64, 7800GTX and two pairs of RAID 0 drives. It is frustrating as this error doesn’t seem to be emulation/copy protection related…just flat out crashes before anything really happens. Anyone else running XP64?
Well.. I’ve tried allmost everything, and really used a lot of time with making this game work.. And what happens.. I suddenltly remembers; i’m running with an Athlon XP+ processor, which makes it impossible for me to play this game.. I’m writing this to all of you people, who haven’t noticed or read the minimum requirements on this game.. DOH!

by the way. even if u have the game loaded and u tried to run it but it wouldnt work due to emulation found. just update with the patch link i gave u then. send me a add on msn mark160480@hotmail.com and i will send u the patch to make the no-cd work. u need to copy and paste this patch into the directory of the game once u have done the update. then run the game and ‘hey presto’ GAME-ONNNNNNNNNNNNN

I’ve found what the problem is ?
Select the folder in which you’ve installed the game.
Right Click > Go to properties > Advanced
Uncheck > Compress Contents To Save Disk Space.
This worked for me after trying every other thing .
