PreVail with their second release for tonight bring us the City of Men DVDSCR. IMDB says this film is 110 minutes so this could have been a 2CD release but maybe they didn’t have a fast enough uploader to up this. English subpack included as the audio is not in English so we can all enjoy.

EDIT: Yeah its nuked, the retail is out and its a dupe :(

In CITY OF MEN, producer Fernando Meirelles (The Constant Gardner) returns to the Brazilian favelas of his Academy Award-nominated film, City of God.     @31 you can’t use Nero when havintg *.avi + *.sub/+.idx file. Use ConvertXtoDVD.

    On VLC Media Player, click on File > Open File. Check the box which says ‘Use a subtitles file’. Then click on the Browse button on the top and locate prv-com.dvdrip.xvid.avi, then click on the Browse button on the bottom and locate prv-com.dvdrip.xvid.idx. Click OK. The subs should work now.

    That’s how I got the subs to work.

    I’d suggest watching City of Men (Cidade dos Homens) tv series first to familiarize yourself with the backdrop and character histories. I believe its about 18 episodes. They sell it for $30 at Barnes & Noble…not sure where to get it online. Pretty entertaining though. The tv series ends where the film begins, although one doesn’t need to watch the series to enjoy the film.

    Tropa De Elite sucked, I tried to enjoy it, but it has too much dialogue for someone watching it with subtitles. Could of been the user who created the subtitles, but I love subtitled movies, I have no trouble with them. This movie was just difficult to watch, subtitles popping up every second, the timing was horrible.

    City Of Men was clean. Not as good as City Of God, but close.
