Ok, people here is the deal. With Martin’s approval I’ve decided to post every WEEK a few singles & promos from electronic music genre (house, trance, dance and their subgenres), all scene releases of course. Some of you may consider it as “commercial” stuff. Since I’m big fan of that kind of music (especially of electro house) & DJ as well, i hope you’ll enjoy this as i do.

I’d like to see some dubstep being posted. I haven’t seen any posted before and it’s popularity is definately on the rise with commercial DJ’s putting tracks by the likes of Benga, Coki and Skream on their playlists.

I’m not really that big a fan of electronic music (only d’n'b, idm and digital hardcore).

Ok, i have changed my mind. I’ll do this WEEKLY because of respect for others guys who don’t like this type of music. And it’s a lot of work to do this daily. So, once per week you can expect about 10 promos/singles from me. Cheers.

The thing is that most new torrents that appear everyday on NewTorrents.info belong to this genre, so it shouldn’t be too difficult.
It would be cool for a daily or weekly alternative music spot, but in that case you’d have to take the releases from somewhere else than NTi.

Totally not interested in Electronic Music, but appreciate the work and dedication. I do welcome the addition of more posts to this site. Not sure if I can speak for everyone but I’d rather you post lots of different stuff (new torrents, confirmed non-fakes and no sync problems) and I’ll wade through and find what I’m interested in, rather than limiting to mass-interest or societal norm. I much prefer it when I log in each morning and see lots of posts, than one new post and below it is the last post I saw when I left the site, 12 hours before.
Cardigans album was a good example. Would never have downloaded it had you not brought it to my attention on a slow day. (Don’t worry, they’ll get their greens if its any good.)

If you like this type of music search “Promo Only Dance” at Mininova.org or some other sites. It’s a monthly release, new tracks every time. There’s also Rhythm (similar), Mainstream (mostly sh!t), and Modern Rock (rocks).
For pr0omo only cd’s there’s also Canadian chart tracks (Canada is awesome, our music is awesome, we are awesome), Club (Urban = sh!t, Alternative = decent, Mainstream = decent, Rhythm = good, Underground = dunno), Urban, Country = Ughh!!! , Caribbean and Tropical music.

Trance, hard house, rave etc, there the worst off all the electronic genres, and yes that is only my opinion, but i am i big music enthusiast and listen to a lot of different music and have been for a long time. For any of you fans of these genres i recomend listening to other genres like EBM, Industrial, Drum n Base and ambient electronics, they have so much more to offer on many levels compared to the repetative and samey sounding hard house tracks

Of course now you have to do the same with rock, rap and what not…I’ve seen some entries with metal bands but now you need to do more.
But the thing is this: if selecting music means educating (and it is) how can you introduce the unknown styles/genres if you just follow demand? So i say it would be even better to make a weird/undergrownd/not comercial music entry too.So what if it’s not scene? get out of the box. People don’t like restrictions-that’s why the scenes came out in the first place, right?

Just a suggestion, but maybe you can also put along side the title or somewhere in the info, the genre of the music.
personally i like house but im not a big fan of trance (ofcourse, some tracks are really good, or unless its by a DJ i know) and so it would make it much easier for us all if we knew which one is which.

I fully agree. Im also happy to have more posts to pick and choose what suits me. I think some visitors either just like to moan or prefer a website that is most tailored to suite their personal tastes. In the second instance, release log is obviously the best there is to offer, or they would be elsewhere!!!
These music promo’s are a good thing, very impressed. Its hard to get hold of them as easily since Demonoid went down, as they used to post a good monthly compilation that took its time to filter down to other trackers.
Magesy website is ok for promo’s, but have to pick your way thru a lot of commercial stuff so not very comprehensive, this could solve that.
