Children of Men 2006 DVDRip XviD-LiNE

Nice! A good movie appeared online few minutes ago. “Children of Men” is an interesting film about the problems that we could have in the future if we don’t take care. I have seen this movie in the cinema and liked it a lot. Especially at the end you really need a 5.1 system to hear the great sound. The quality of the DVDRip is good but doesn’t have Ac3 sound. The movie allready took place in the “IMDB top 250″ films in the #222 place with a 8.1 rating. Recommended movie!

Edit (after someone’s comment): The film has 6 channel sound, so the rip is perfect! Enjoy once again this good movie.

Earth, 2027: Hope for the future has become a dwindling resource. It has been nearly 19 years since the last baby was born, and with each passing year of inexplicable, global childlessness, mankind edges closer to giving up all claims to a future. While most people choose to embrace the inevitable and descend into separatism, lawlessness and nihilism, others fight on for a unified planet and the rights of the dwindling populations.

Great Britain is the one country that has managed — through a policy of militaristic imperialism — to survive the ever-increasing internal strife and, in turn, is seeing a tremendous influx of illegal refugees landing on its shores. But with a firm, totalitarian hand, these “fugees” are herded into detainment camps and deported.

For Theo (CLIVE OWEN), all of this matters little, having allowed himself to settle into a state of numbness. The former activist turned bureaucrat has steeled himself against his painful past and the reality of a senseless future by simply ceasing to care. His existence is enlivened only by visits to his old friend Jasper (MICHAEL CAINE), who lives in the remote countryside miles from London. There, they remember happier times as comrades-in-arms, activists who once took up against the coming tide but now find themselves checked out from a society that no longer provides any answers.

All of that abruptly changes when Theo finds himself thrown in the back of a van and brought before Julian (JULIANNE MOORE). Once his partner in both love and war, she is now the head of a covert group fighting for the rights of the remaining refugee population. Julian has surfaced long enough to ask for a favor — for Theo to obtain transit papers for Kee (CLARE-HOPE ASHITEY), a young woman within her organization who must be seen safely out of the country.

without 5.1 sound it is worthless.

the already released dvdscreener had good picture quality AND 5.1 sound.

    just my 2 cents

I watched it last week, and although I thought that it would be a great movie, i was really dissapointed, because i expected more from that movie. I never read reviews in Imdb before watching a movie, as with this one. But now, after watching the movie, i wanted to see what people think – after seeing that it made the 250 with 8.1 – so i did. I dont believe that people actually liked this movie so much to say that it deserves an oscar. The most important thing in a movie – that is the plot – is totally absent from this one. Or if it is there somewhere, it leaves you asking yourself what happened, why it happened and what next? Too many questions unanswered.

If you want to see a movie, find and watch the Blood Diamond, it is really better to watch than this crap.

Overall a good 1984esque rendition but I would have to agree, the plot seems empty in places.

One thing I liked about it was how towards the end the director portrays the British state as using similar “ghettoising” methods to seperate non-British refugees from the rest of society similar to those used in Nazi Germany.
Ironic really, when today’s Britain will not and cannot forget and stop talking about “The War” and move on with life.
I mean really. We get a cable channel over here called UKTV History and instead of showing useful, interesting historical documentaries you get hour after hour of WW2 programs and little else.
Not that theres anything wrong with them, but when is enough enough??
More ontopic, anyone else notice the “London 2012″ Olympics hoodie that Theo wears during part of the movie?
    Nice touch.

cuaron isnt a plot type of guy. everyone who’s watched y tu mama tambien knows this. watch the movie for the cinematography and camerawork, absolutely breathtaking.

gkats, blood diamond? the story is actually plain; only thing remarkable in it is leo’s acting (the accent sounds faked, but many _actual_ south africans say it was good, even spot on sometimes). even good shepherd doesnt have that good a plot, just many subtleties in the way the story was presented.

babel, i found the stories devoid of any deep connection (except the obvious relation: deaf girl couple -> maid); nothing at all like the sophistication of, say, syriana (or one might argue, pseudo-sophistication). the departed sounds like it’s the best storywise, but i cant even give it that, because having had watched the infernal affairs trilogy totally ruined it for me.

in short, COM is a good film. see it but dont expect something cerebral. more than anything, its a visual feast

  22. fy
    January 12th, 2007 | 06:55

err, i meant “faked _badly_” and “deaf girl – gun – kid shepherds – couple – maid”. apparently this thing confuses the arrows (->,

this is the shittiest and most overrated movie of the year.
how can anyone like such piece of crap? and with storyline like this, as someone mentioned above it is empty at places, i should add – empty at most places…

  28. Gkats
    January 12th, 2007 | 11:49

fy, it maybe that Blood Diamond is plain concerning the plot, but my point was that I enjoyed watching it more than watching Children of Men.

*** May be considered SPOILER ***

And FYI everyone, reading some reviews, someone was saying that the actuall novel that Children of Men is based on, speaks of Men sterility, and not of women being unable to have children. And what does it mean that one woman can actually have a baby? That the supposed problem is now gone??? Come on, too many holes in the plot actually.

    1. delete the corrupted files
    2. keep everything else
    3. DL the torrent on NEONTORRENTS (register)
    4. let your client check your files and only DL the one you deleted
    5. CRC should match

yeah i agree with people here.. i feel as if their was something missing at the begining… like a better plot summery and a maybe they should have extended the movie 20 min more to fill in a few more gaps… i mean it’s an OK movie but could have been made a ta bit better.

Various CRC errors as per prior posts. On one of the CD’s I deleted the single file with the error, then did a “force recheck” and dloaded the 14MB file again – same result.
I think it may be time to give up, but it appears that other people have been successful.

I replied earlier about corrupt files. I deleted the whole thing, all of it. Downloaded again, from the link posted here (again). Same files are corrupt. I highly doubt redownloading just those sections will work, as its nearly a random chance I’ll be redownloading the same corrupt sections again. What I don’t understand is how some of you are getting this, and how some (like me) aren’t. They should nuke the whole thing and someone with a clean version, rerar it and seed that (post new torrent). And this time, it doesn’t really save any space or bandwidth, and is can cause these corruptions by rerarring rar files.

Until a new torrent is posted for this file I won’t waste another 1.39 gigs downloading and over that uploading (2.7 down now and 3.2 up of wasted bandwidth).
