Thanks nolimits for the tips. I also come across this problem recently.
I found that, for existing installations, you can also use this method (no need to reinstall):
- use keygen to install a new license
- reboot and enter safe mode
- run cmd
- run "attrib -h +r c:\windows\system32\zllictbl.dat"
- run "attrib +h c:\windows\system32\zllictbl.dat"
- reboot again and boot normally
It will keep the existing license from being updated.

Sure does. Im sure this one will be patchable as Kaspersky would not leak the info if it isn't worth any monetary gain. XD

He should be showing it soon enough and show how the attack effects all OS's and the breeds of viruses/spyware that it will enable to bypass any software.... BOOO Kaspersky...

He says he is doing it to show that CPU creators should remove all ERRATA and stop being lazy, but we know its for some quick cash.

@102,

There are microcode patches but the manufacturers do not distribute them and it will probably suck if you have a computer 2+ since no one will probably care to distribute these low-level patches for them, some seem not to care about system less than 2 years old. The only hope is that intel will start distributing patches them self independent of operating system for us to patch hardware.

Also I heard not all ERRATA can be patched away and therefore needs hardware replacement which is bad news for all of us as it will be costly. It is a bit scary that you now not theoretically cannot trust your hardware but really you cannot trust your hardware it is even below the BIOS level and other low-level firmware (ethernet firmware...).

This sucks!

@ Aru,

From what is told about the new Intel "exploit", There will be a whole new breed of Viruses/Adware ect ect blah blah (yea we've heard it all before) that can completely bypass all software and root itself directly.

Guess there gonna have to start working on a Micro Code patch. AMD isn't the only people making ERRATA blunders and INTEL did infact release some of the same errors as AMD on a few of its former Duo's.

Not a bad piece of software, does exactly what it should do. My only problem with this software is that is slows down your computer on first boot, also it uses way too much system resources.
Used it for a couple years but eventually switched to Outpost Security Suite Pro.
See how your AV / Firewall got rated, very interesting test results.

I've used this for a while and I like it, like been said only slows when scanning. I started off with AVG free and got riddled with virii, tried NIS (which PAID for!! DOH!)n got to watch hundreds of e-mails start sending themselves off to people I didn't know....and firewall n AV remotely disabled several times...
One thing I've noticed with this tho is PeerGuardian2 blocks this calling home at regular intervals, it's not the AV updating that works fine, I disable all other contact options, defense net, product update, junk filter(extra service running-no thanx) etc. so what's it trying to do?
Don't bother me much cos there's only media stuff on pc anyway, all I use it for.
Oh, and never needed to register it to update it

Back to phucking up the country....

I think zonealarm is the only company compatiable with Nod32 AV, That might of changed now since these firewall companies don't seem to want to add support for any kind of AV. These comapnies need to get their act together if they expect people to want to buy this crap. I use to use Outpost Firewall the time cause it seemed to kickass, but now I can hardly find a Antivirus that is compatiable with it. I tried AVG, Kaspersky, bitdefender etc and they all get conflicts with it.
