Charlie Wilsons War READNFO DVDScr XViD-BaLD
BaLD have given us another DVDScr to add to the pile with their release of Charlie Wilson’s War. This movie has some big name actors such as Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts so its not to miss. BaLD have left a note in their nfo saying there is a glitch in the movie credits but there are also the annoying dvdscr messages we get from time to time. Other then that its a nice release by BaLD one defiantly worth getting.
A drama based on a Texas congressman Charlie Wilson’s covert dealings in Afghanistan, where his efforts to assist rebels in their war with the Soviets have some unforeseen and long-reaching effects.

Nice Release but how much of the beginning of this movie is missing. Start up no credits and start out with a scene at a funeral. how much of this movie is missing footage.

R5? Please. This movie isn’t released in theaters in Russia until April 28th, 2008. And anybody that knows anything about R5s knows that three weeks after a movie premiers in Russia the DVD comes out of the movie (R5) to combat the piracy problems over in Russia, so with that said the R5 posting of this movie is a fake. Another good movie released on DVDSCR, excellent. Now where is the screener for Juno? I’m dying to see that movie again, just hate paying more than once for a movie at a theater, better things I can do with the money.

O.K., *maybe* for those that watch their movies on antique dvd-only standalone players that don’t digest xvid or other flavors of MPEG4. But hey, this is 2008 (almost) and when filesize matters – and filesize does obviously matter when downloading off the net – so when filesize matters then use a codec that squeezes better quality into the same filesize … and is sufficiently supported on standalone machines.
Here I am talking about Xvid-mpeg4 without GMC/qpel – the common release format. Soon, MPEG4 will be replaced by MPEG4-AVC (h264). And then something else even more advanced.
So feaco, honestly: What is it that – nowadays – makes you fancy MPEG2/MPEG1 for internet downloads? I just don’t understand.
first let me start by saying I have been waiting for this one. second thanks for posting, third movie is incomplete at the beginning skips from opening company logo where the sun rises directly to the movie no opening credits as in all standard vids go skipping stopping choppy audio. now it might be my player but just updated or maybe the download was messed up either way I got a bad copy so if its not my player then.
just in case other readers don’t draw the connection:
The KVCD video format uses MPEG2 or even MPEG1 for video encoding. MPEG2 is good at high bitrates, but not a low bitrates.
(Just like SVCD or VCD did – only KVCD uses variable bitrate and especially adapted quantization matrices)

Yes, the credits at the start are off but the film is completely watchable. Nothing is cut out bar from the main title stating this is ‘Charlie Wilson’s War’.
And yes, all we need is Juno and There Will Be Blood and I’ll be a very happy man.

My post was about how the families of dead soldiers from the former USSR will react to this movie. I would think it would be received as a slap in the face.

Can anybody please provide a xdrive link to the movie. adrive appears to be very slow. When I tried downloading it, my download manager predicted 5 hours to download it completely, whereas when I download it from xdrive I am able to download it in less than an hour and if I have other simultaneous downloads even then I need no more than 2 hours.

The movie wasn’t bad for a political drama. And there were several cuties (some scantily clad) thrown in for good measure.
FYI: Two semi-famous TV hotties had small roles in this movie as members of “Charlie’s angels”. I didn’t even notice until I saw their names in the end credits. Shiri Appleby (Roswell) and Rachel Nichols (The Insider, Alias).
FYI2: Screener info – About every 30 minutes, a “Not for sale…” message scrolls across the bottom of the screen. Only lasts about 10 seconds. There are no black and white scenes or any blurred sections. Nice job. Thanks to all involved!

Having problems with http://www.yastorage.com I downloaded 3 movies from here by yastorage and everything worked fine, but when I went back to download this movie it didn’t work right.
When I went to the site, I clicked on RequestDownload Link, but when the page reloaded I clicked on the F like I was told, but then it took me to so other page like a search.

Great film and great acting by Hanks. Soviet expansionism during the Cold War was scary and their cruelty toward the Afghans horrifying. Have a thought though, while smiling at the triumph of good over evil at the end, the United States now occupies this very land twenty years on and whatever justification it may provide, it is not out of love for the Afghan people or even for a world free of tyranny.
