DiAMOND on a roll tonight with the release of Cloverfield and now Charlie Wilsons War. The DVDSCR has been available for a while, and it was pretty good quality, but can’t complain about getting a DVDRip. Enjoy this great release from DiAMOND, and chances are this won’t get nuked ;)

Quality: Well its a DiAMOND so we can always expect something good, and we got pretty low quality for their usual type of release. Since this movie is 102 minutes I would expect a 2CD rip, but again they ripped it in 1CD with a resolution of 592×320 and pretty typical audio. Also English, Spanish, and French subs are included so no need to worry about that either.

In the early 1980s, Charlie Wilson is a womanizing US congressional representative from Texas who seemed to be in the minor leagues, except for the fact that he is a member of two major foreign policy and covert-ops committees. However, prodded by his major conservative supporter, Joanne Herring, Wilson learns about the plight of the people are suffering in the brutal Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. With the help of the maverick CIA agent, Gust Avrakotos, Wilson dedicates his canny political efforts to supply the Afghan mujahideen with the weapons and support to defeat the Soviet Union. However, Charlie Wilson eventually learns that while military victory can had, there are other consequences and prices to that fight that are ignored to everyone’s sorrow.

    Diamond are arguably the worst group around. They recieve accolades from work they did a year ago.

    yeah im really dissappointed in Diamond… 2 big movies and they cram both of em on 1 cd. A 2cd rip with AC3 audio would have been great.

    Great movie…I’ve met the real Charlie Wilson - Tom Hanks toned it down a LOT. Speak to Good Time Charlie for 2 minutes and you leave feeling he’s your best friend in the whole world.

    I’ve read the scene rules many times, and all DiAMOND would have to do to make a 2CD release is add either the AC3 tag or the iNT tag. This would also allow them to make a DVDRip with a horizontal res of 720, something not allowed without either of those tags.

    blah blah we hate diamond, we hate axxo - all they do is post great quality rips of films people want to see - their films stay seeded much longer than crappy scene group B, or crappy scene group C.

    the vast majority of people know that a well done 700mb rip is perfectly good quality and can be downloaded quickly.

    Sweeney Todd, Elizabeth The Golden Age, now this one is on 1cd as well. And all this at time when many replace their 700mb rips with 2gb ones and 1.4gb rips with 4.3gb hd-rips? Is DIAMOND the new sAxxo of 2008? Looking at the vote results above, I say it probably is.

    P.S. If I had to vote, I’d rather vote for Pukka. They used to release nearly unwatchable cam crap just a couple of years ago. Now their R5s look better than DIAMOND’s dvdrips.

    that only works for standard tv. try divx on a hd set and the pixelation especially during dark scenes, gets pretty annoying.

    to each his own i guess… i’d rather wait an extra hour or so and have a quality rip either full dvd or 4.3gb 720p.

    Yeah I think there this fine line that seperates one CD from two and this movie just rides under it so it’s quality is subpar but Diamond can’t help but follow the guidelines and do one CD anyways

    Unless I’m mistaken, under 120 minutes means 1 CD according to scene rules. So DIAMOND does work according to the rules. The fact that those ‘rules’ suck doesn’t matter.

    cheers for this, also if people wondering where the R5 releases are for this month, totaldvd.ru site you have to go into the forum as they couldnt manage to put it into the release schedule for some reason, i had a quick scan through and only seen horton hears a who. which is roughly due halfway through this month.
