Charlie Bartlett WORKPRINT XviD iNT
A nice early workprint of a promising-looking comedy Charlie Bartlett has been released few hours ago. This is rather a p2p release and there’s no group officialy standing behing it, but it will surely be very popular because of one simple reason: the movie won’t hit cinemas until February 22. You could have seen various commercials and trailers and if everything goes well, this will be a real hit. The release is slightly out of sync in first 10 minutes, but then fixes just fine. Don’t forget, it’s just a workprint, some scenes may not be fully finished and effects/audio may be missing.
Wealthy teenager Charlie Bartlett is failing miserably at fitting in at a new public high school run by the world-weary Principal Gardner. As he begins to better understand the social hierarchy, Charlie’s honest charm and likability positions him as the resident “psychiatrist” dishing out advice, and the occasional prescription with his partner and fellow student, Murphy Bivens, to other students in need. Along the way, he decides to take some of his own advice, find romance, and learn to accept who he is, thus wielding a witty dark comedy about the angst-filled years before college.

Downey Jr usually makes a film worth it, so I’ll watch it, but the plot is pretty worn. However, I was pleasantly surprised by another teen angst movie, Rocket Science, so you never know… just ramblin’ here…

Workprints usually have more movie in them than is shown in the theaters. For example Apocalypse Now’s workprint is five hours long and Phantasm 2 is twenty minutes longer. It is basiclly named workprint because it it the print that the film editor is working on.

I no sites where to find “scene” releases (just to see what is released), but where does one attain a list of P2P releases that are out?
I think I’ll wait on this one until I hear a real rating. Seen previews/trailers for this, but apparently the writing isn’t up to spec. Keep an eye on vcdquality for the downloader reviews.
I watched it for 20 minutes then switched off, don’t get me wrong it looks promising but as the sf are unfinished I ended up laughing in all the wrong places.
00:07:45 you will notice though the sound fx have been put in the machine gun shows no fire/flash while being used so the effect is of a man holding the gun and just shaking it, v funny but spoilt it as I was laughing my ass off as each terrorist hit the deck after having it waved at them.
00:13:21 to 00:14:05 I love 3dsmax as much as the next guy but wtf is a wire frame tank about? again funny but spoiled the tension.
I switched off at 00:19:00 ish, the body double in the green suit chasing the girl though the dorm, this will be all over the net very soon I am sure and rightly so, just no place for it in a serious action / horror.
Download it and watch it after you see a dvdrip els you will spoil the experience.

Anyhoo… Movie looks pretty sweet; I don’t like workprints because there are normallya loads of display and words on the screen, but this movie looks ok, seeing as how I’ve had to promte it by wearing a t-shirt at my theatre that says “People like you are the reaon people like me need medication.” Movie looks interesting, I know the plot so well because I tell practically everyone what it’s about since they ask me

to fix the sync just turn the volume right up then move far enough from the TV so that the delay of the audio reaching you sync’s up again.
I had to go 1.7 miles from my screen but the speed of sound is not a constant and changes on many factors.

@20 if they are released and you find them here then you can find them p2p somewhere,im pretty sure in 24 hours you could even find a site that streams it straight to your pc.try using google and some imagination.
Come on people…. SEED!SEED!SEED! Why would U dl the movie & not be nice enough to leave it availabelable for others to dl? If someone else allowed U to get it from them then U should atleast leave the download up for 1 to 2 hours so someone else can reap the benifits. Anyway that’s my take on it.

Audio is fine btw, just a very slight sync issue first 10 min. Better than most “workprints”. Took me 5 min to download it. I do not know why you ppl use torrents or lame RS (or RS clones)… Movie is ok, V:8 A:8 M:7

The sync is easy to fix on this…
If you have a little knowledge with audio editing.
I’ll give you the timings, and you do what you will..
To fix the first 10 minutes of audio, you need to
ADD 0.5 silence to the beginning of the audio.. Then
at 9:57 into the audio you need to DELETE 0.5 seconds
od audio.. no worries it is nothing in the sound at this
point anyways… then all will be in sync..
There you go.. You have your timings.. If you know how
to edit, the hard work is already done for ya..

audio 8 / video 8 & yea it is out of sync for about the first 10 min. but after that it’s cool! I did just scan through it but seems like a good movie.
ill just tell you, unrar it into the dir with the .avi MAKE SURE IT ISN’T RENAMED then run the batch file itll go through vdub 3 times then it will be all fixed!!!

This looks more like a screener than a workprint.
Titles and music are finished. Colors are clean.
A little “Property of SKE” pops up on the bottom of the screen every 15 minutes or so, but that’s it.

Split off the first 10min and fixed the sync (.5 off) w/ YAAI then burned to DVD w/ the remainder.
Just finished watching and really enjoyed it. The lead actor was fantastic and I was thankful to find it wasn’t full of lame sex jokes like Superbad.

I just watched this. it reminded me of alittle like ferris buller, then it reminded of some other 90 style movies.
This movie was off the hooker! Great movie. Yes the first 10 minutes where alittle out of sync, but who cares! I find it funny how many people complain about a free movie that is not even out yet! Miss Bell, it’s not my link. I found it on Joox, downloaded it, and converted it to DVD in Nero… and watched it… with no audio synch problems. You don’t like it, don’t use it. I don’t care. However, there are some people here who don’t have accounts at sites like rapidshare, so downlaoding the avi file directly from a fast site that doesn’t require membership to download (like Joox or yastorage)is not a bad thing to point out. I have nothing to gain by posting a link.
Did you download the avi from Joox before calling me a liar, or are you just going by the comments of people who watched it on their player without downloading it?

Can anyone please provide a link to a tutorial on how to fix sync issues in movie files yourself? That way we can all do it ourselves without waiting for an official fix.
I know that you can adjust the audio in vlc and such, but I would like to know how to fix the avi file using ndub or whichever program.
So can someone please provide a sync-fixing tutorial?
sync fix tut:. Or how I did it…
change from Direct stream copy mode in audio to FULL PROCESSING
1) open avi in Virtual Dub
2) save the audio as a wav file (Direct stream copy mode)
3) use Besweet to convert the wav to an uncompressed wav
4) load uncompressed wav into GoldWave and ADD 0.5 sec of
silence to the beginnning of the audio clip….
5) goto the time frame of 9min and 57sec and DELETE 0.5 seconds of audio
6) save the wav file.. You will have a 1.04GB wav file now..
7) load this new extremely large wav file into Vdub with the
original avi..
9) Now choose COMPRESSION
10) I chose 128kBits 48000Hz stereo MP3 format
11) SAVE the avi..
12) wait a min or two, and then watch…
It seems like alot of steps, but it is easy to do..
and takes less than 5 minutes to complete…

oh. and also make sure that when you save your new avi, that you VIDEO is also set to Direct Stream copy mode. There is no need to recode the video….
This release should be nuked for being terribly out of sync for the first 15 minutes or so.
I watched the whole movie, and I still don’t understand what story it was trying to tell. Did Charlie Bartlett learn a lesson and stop giving advice or does he use his advice giving talent to get a job?

I saw the commercial again and remembered I’ve been wanting to see this. I saw the commercial originally about a few months ago and have been wanting to see this since. Can’t wait to spoil the ending for me friends! jk, but yes, I WILL be checking this out.

Just want to give everyone a warning to avoid downloading this release. The audio is out of sync with the video for the first 15-20 minutes of the movie.
This should be nuked soon, so wait for a better version.

saw this movie over the summer (07) when they were pre-screening it, very good. i thought i remember it being release already (saw some posters around). very good movie, i enjoyed it a lot. as far as this torrent goes, its a little out of sync, as stated… if can can, id say go catch it when releases in theaters.
its CANNOT be nuked because no scene grp rlsed it, it’s from a P2P grp….and we THANK them for doing this, without their out of sync stuff, we would have NOTHING, so be great full for having something…and for the post 116, go buy a pc, their cheaper and run all GOOD programs….i’m going to buy an airbook, and snap it with my knee on youtube…look for it..
i love this site. I always look here first , then before long the movie will be on kingdom a KVCD site, and any problems like sync problems or colour problems or subtitles are fixed. Plus they take under 10 mins to burn after you have downloaded them onto a cd which works on almost any dvd player. that my two cents worth. cheers all. keep up the great work rlslog.

Of course it can be nuked. It has the problem of out-of-sync audio, so this is a cause for nuking.
Ignore what MNB has said and wait for a better version with in-sync audio so you can enjoy the entire movie.

How do you know to add 0.5sec of silence though, is it just trial and error (adding .2 sec, .7, etc) until you get it right? Or is there some way to find out exactly by how much the audio is oos?
The 0.5 sec is a rule of thumb for me. I learned while converting Divx/Xvid with VBR audio to Mpeg2 a few years ago, for my old skool normal dvdplayer, the movies would be out of sync..
But by adding 0.5 seconds of silence to the beginning of the uncompressed audio, before I converted the movie to the mpeg 2 format, 99% of all vbr encodes became synced…
so I now as a rule of thumb, I start with the 0.5 second delay, and work from there… try it sometime. any VBR encode you have.. Open the movie in Vdub. rip the audio, convert the audio to an uncompressed wav. use goldwave to add the 0.5 second silence to the beginning. then save the wav. I can guarantee you that 99% of the time the result will be a synced audio to your video. And then you can convert the video to what ever format from there, and know it will be in sync.. I no longer convert to mpeg2, but what I learned awhile back, does come in handy from time to time. As it did on this release..
