You can already do this. There's an option to keep the mini player ontop of other windows in the preferences and then to get the mini player you hit command(apple)+option+z.

iTunes sucks!!! I hate it, and I have to have it because of my iPhone. I only open it and use it to sync the phone after that this despicable, hogging software can fudge off.
Is their a media player that can actually tell you the date it was added to your library? Not the date the software thinks the song was made by the artist. Don't tell me iTunes either, even if it does, its user unfriendliness would still have me boycotting it.
Sorry OB1, but indeed iTunes DOES have that feature. Also, is it the Windows version you use because if so I do concede that it runs terribly slowly on any windows computer not made in the last two years (and even some that were made that recently) but if you are using the mac version then I personally have never found iTunes to run particularly slowly, not even on my 700mhz iBook… And regarding this piece of software here, this can already be achieved by the simple press of the little green button at the top left of the iTunes window. Oh and the iTunes way looks much better.
Yes i am using the Windows version on a computer more than 2 years old… I concede, for now.
Really though thanks for the info.
