These TVRips of this tournament are a sign of the times; instead of actually watching athletes playing sports, we are watching arm-chair athletes competing against each other in a competition based on intelligence and reaction-times. This is the first time I have seen a show like this, it’s a bit weird to listen to an announcer giving the dialogue of the ongoing game. Each release is 700MB and the standard 640×352, PAL. Each part has half the number of contestants as the last, starting out with 40 contestants in part 1.
Sky will serve up a Christmas treat for gamers, by broadcasting coverage of the Championship Gaming Series in high definition on Sky Two HD (also in standard definition on Sky Two) from 24th December. Each night from 10pm, Sky will show coverage of 12 teams of professional gamers competing on titles such as FIFA 07, Project Gotham Racing 3, Counter-Strike: Source, and Dead or Alive 4. Up for grabs? A $1m prize fund. It takes place at the Sony Studios in Los Angeles, and the UK is sending two teams of gamers — London Mint and Birmingham Salvo. Coverage will last for a week, and be presented by Dave Berry, Emma Griffiths, and Keeley Hazell.
