“One for all time” is the best track on the album.
“Angel” is a close second and “You belong to me” was a nice little throwback with Michael McDonald.

But yeah, “One for all time” is scintillating, especially the middle of the song after the chorus where Chaka’s voice soars and growls with verve and swagger. So damn hot.. It’s a shame this current lost generation has no connection to QUALITY music, so this album is wasted on them. But the rest of us can appreciate it.

Ok,everyone. I’ve heard the entire CD. IT’s AWESOME. IT takes you back to VINTAGE CHAKA. My favorite song on the album is ONE FOR ALL TIME! My god, I cry when I hear it everytime. WAtch out world, CHAKA IS BACK!!!!

I’ve been a fan of Chaka’s every since her first album (or rather the first album that she was on) – and I do mean ALBUM, not “CD”… Looking at her, and looking at this release, it looks like it’ll be her fattest moment yet… err, I mean “phattest”… ok, I DID mean “fattest”.. c’mon, that chicks head is so big that’s all they could fit in the picture… Big, Fat, Loud, Screaming woman – WE KNOW YOUR THERE! We can’t MISS your fat ass! STOP SCREAMING, YOU FAT FREAK!

Gotta love that Chaka Khan.

Well, Well, Well, I have been with Chaka for the last 30 years of my life and Lord knows I love her with all my heart, but this project didn’t do if for me. I love “Back in the Day” But what can you say Chaka could sing nothing and we all would love her just the same. This project take me back to “The Woman I Am” when Chaka was finding herself (so was I) Chaka vocals are ALWAYS ON POINT, the songs them self I didn’t care for. I really don’t know what Chaka wants me to feel or be on this project. Maybe I’m really sad that Airf Martin is gone. Would have been great for Chaka to team up with all members of Rufus and maybe some Rod Temperton on the lyrics…..CD

Thanks tons for this post Martin.

One of the (if not the)outstanding female voices I have heard in my 36 years on the planet. Her track “Ain’t Nobody” is one my all time favourites.

She may be a bit older now, but I bet her voice could still outstrip today’s top vocalists. It’s a pity she has went down the slightly cheesy ‘Romantic Ballad/Duet’ road a lot in her time, instead of say, doing what Jocelyn Brown did with Nuyorican Soul, etc. I’m hoping this album does what it says and goes back to her earlier Rufus/solo style.

Yes,she surely leaved a BIG impression like many others in the music world as Flash & The Pan and so on.Guess the My Space generation have a lot to explore and thanks for the post.
