CES: Kodak introduces new budget cameras

One of the biggest event among consumer technology is beginning tomorrow and all manufacturers are already pushing new products which are usually announced at private press conferencess. CES in Las Vegas will bring us a nice collection of new hardware in next few days, and here are already first of them: Kodak introduced two new models of digital cameras Kodak EasyShare V803 and V1003. These two new machines aim definitely for the common consumer: For just $199, the 8-megapixel V803 is a sharp looker that contrasts with the clunky My-First-Digicam style of similarly-priced models from companies like Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, and well, Kodak. If you want to blow an extra $50, plus more money for memory cards, you can get a 10-megapixel sensor in the otherwise-identical V1003 version.

You can’t request many features for such a price, so this will be mostly point and shot type of camera. I personally prefer slightly more powerful models but this may serve also well for some quick pictures from a party or a short trip. Taking pictures during night should be much easier now, as Kodak upped the light sensitivity to ISO 800. There are also some new features like advanced settings or Favourite button which will save a picture into the internal memory of this camera. Small, cheap and easy to use, that’s what these new models offer…

Got a Kodak myself, pretty happy about it, although the earlier versions with little Megapxl are kinda lousy. Maybe you should get one yourself and make some nice shots of Paris ;)

Calling it a budget cam is wrong! Well it is an okay price. Here in Dubai, especially now during the Dubai Shopping Festival 10 MP cams cost on average 200 US dollars and im talking Sony ones with carl zeus lenses!

I’ve had both Kodak and Sony and I stay away from both due to any problems you have will cost as much to repair as buying a new camera. Canon and the other pre-digital camera manufactures may cost a little more but repairs are less expensive. $200 is $200 and for a little more you can get a much better camera. I picked up a Canon A620 PowerShot with 7.1 mega pixels for $250. Now the camera was on sale and I am very happy with it. It also takes excellent movies and I have a 1 meg SD card.

Remember the price may be right but they will get you on the repairs.

User, we all here to have a good time and to help each other out. There are to many sites that have a negative thing and Martin wanted to have a site that is the best. I for one welcome such a site and there well be of course others to follow. Imitation is a form of admiration.

Any constructive commnents are always welcome as it will build better communications and ideas.

Amperage, why do you take offense to such silly things? I bet your peepee is the size of a twig.

  13. January 8th, 2007 | 07:04

LOL, well in very cold water it is. It’s not the offense it’s the silly idea that one has to comment on a review of what one write in a negative manner as oppose to being positive. It’s far to easy to be negative as oppose to being constructive, creative and caring.

Perhaps you need to review what Martin envision with this site before posting silly comments. Are you too a prize twit?
