@wBuddha

It's 2009 friend.
According to Micheal J. Fox, I should have my hoverboard in 6 years.

I'd love to see the Star Trek replicators, unfortunately, I don't see anything happening like that for at least another millennium. The amount of controlled/precise scanning and atom manipulation in a safe way would take an abnormal amount of research. (Unless aliens come down and give it to us for free.) Not to mention, that a machine like that would ruin the economy.

Imagine our world right now where anyone had access to a holodeck and a replicator. Free food, free stuff, and your own version of a Utopian society. No one would leave their homes again. LOL.

Wireless?

How are they getting power to the set, beaming that in too? Come with its own mini-tokomak?

This obsession with thin is ridiculous, appearance over performance. I'd like a monitor that does blacks, has the viewing angles and contrast levels that exceeds those of a bog simple CRT.

SED, OLED, FED all look like more promising technologies than LED and Plasma

Its' 2008! Where is my personal jet pack?

@ Den

Actually, they're using WirelessHD technology - Amimon operates on 5Ghz, while SiBEAM, the chip provider for WirelessHD, uses 60Ghz.

That’s sounds cool….

Is there a release date for such technology?, as I need to download a new Washing machine, as mines broken down (won’t spin properly) :-(

Thanks in advance...;-)

For the $ this is nothing special. The new Plasma tech that this TV and the new Vizio's carry blow away any LCD on the market. Everyone would complain about the life span on Plasma's but, this Plasma tech has a full color life of 60,000+ hours compare to the old ones of about 15,000. Which means if you have it on for 12 hours a day it will last for 14 years (full color)!! By then you'll be upgrading anyway

Idiot. You want a battery powered screen? Have fun! Your logic amuses me.

And feel free to express your anger at my comment, you're still an idiot!

I'll be impressed when the touch can do half the things an analog clock can do.

@ 11 bob

"Computer(replicator), I would like a Core i7 965, 12GB RAM 300GB SSD" lol. But on topic, still waiting on Laser TV or OLED. Still prefer CRT compared to LCD(picture quality wise).

Whats the huge deal in that TV??? Guess someone doesn´t have 3 inches of clearance at their living room????

What´s the point of paying 3 times more for the same image quality?

Dumb technology

"once we have machines that can manipulate atoms like star treks replicators then we will be able to download hardware. because everything will simply be an assembly code."
