For anyone who’s not familiar with Glen Campbell, he’s a country singer, whose rather old-school.  He’s got the definitive version of several just classic American songs, such as “By the Time I Get to Phoenix” and “Wichita Lineman”.  In fact, he’s earned over 20 Top 10 singles in the span of his career.  I saw this today, clicked on it out of curiosity, and am so glad I am.  In the middle of a first listen, and to be honest, it’s brilliant so far and barring a total mess of the last few tracks, might just be my favorite album of the year so far.  It’s a cover album, with him making several artist’s songs his own, such as Green Day, Foo Fighters, U2, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Velvet Underground, the Replacements, and more.  It is a country album by definition, but in a way very few artists can, with this album he penetrates genre barriers and has made, IMO, the best country-related album since Johnny Cash’s American IV.  Perhaps the best thing is, thanks to this advance from FM, we’re getting it over a month early.

Glen Travis Campbell (born April 22, 1936, Delight, Arkansas) is a Grammy Award, Dove Award winning, and two time nominated Golden Globe Award American country pop singer and guitarist and occasional actor. He is best known for a series of hits in the 1960s and 1970s, as well as for hosting a television variety show called The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour on CBS television.

Yesterday, …..of a revolution (or O.A.R.) released their newest album, All Sides.  Surprisingly, there wasn’t an early leak, unlike most albums.  However, as of yesterday, RTB did get a rip up, and so now, it’s being brought to you.  O.A.R. is a band that I’ve liked a lot of stuff in the past.  Their biggest hits are almost undoubtedly “That Was a Crazy Game of Poker”, which they can play for 20 minutes live, and “Love and Memories”, which made a lot of waves on radio, terrestrial and satellite, a few years ago.  Very pop-friendly college rock, lots of jazz and jam band influence, big on college campuses.  If that sounds good to you, be sure to give this a check out.

Hello all. Back from my vacation & I’d like to show you some new Mellencamp Material. Now for those who don’t know who this guy is … you might think of it like this. Some people love Adam Sandler, some hate him. There are very few middle-men. Mellencamp is in this same boat. His older works are in my best summer memories and I love his tunes. Limp Bizkit is an American nu metal band from Jacksonville, Florida. The current members of the band include vocalist Fred Durst, bassist Sam Rivers, drummer John Otto (Rivers’ cousin), and turntablist/sampler player DJ Lethal.

The band’s guitarist Wes Borland departed in 2001 following the release of their first three albums to be replaced by Mike Smith for the band’s fourth release Results May Vary.
