Crowded House - Platinum (2008)
This is a guest post written by Prezdead.
Release group ‘EON’ brings us a neat little surprise from New Zealand, now re-united, band Crowded House. After a long breakup and a sketchy existence, these guys are back after an 11 year ‘break’ with a greatest hits package. Good tunes and rockin’ riffs. Enjoy!
Platinum is a greatest hits package thrown together by Platinum Records. Can’t find a set release date … but we have something to go on after their last album, Time on Earth, released in June of 2007 & reaching #1 in Australia and #3 in the UK.
Crowded House is a rock group formed in Melbourne and led by New Zealand musician and singer-songwriter Neil Finn. Finn is widely recognised as the primary songwriter and creative direction of the band, having led it through several incarnations, drawing members from New Zealand (himself, Tim Finn and Eddie Rayner), Australia (Paul Hester, Nick Seymour, Peter Jones and Craig Hooper) and the United States (Mark Hart and Matt Sherrod).

Kind of slipping through the cracks is the new album from American Idol Season 2 Runner Up Clay Aiken. Say what you will about his personal life or the style of the music, there is no doubt that he has vocal talent. He’s a little corny, a little goofy, but this might be the kind of album you get for your girlfriend, wife, or mother.
Unknown to me, group BiGJESSE (maybe a big fan?) have provided us with some new J.Mc material. I think we all know what to expect from this one, coming from Dream Street. Either way, enjoy!
FTN has come along with this fine release which is sure to please all fans of indie music with The Myriads soft-more release and major label debut release i think they have created an exciting album where there isn’t a week link like we are used to with most album these days . Seattle-based rockers The Myriad had prime TV show placement to help get the proverbial ball rolling. In addition to placement on “The Real World: Denver,” the band sealed its “Emerging Artists” status by getting handpicked by MTV for the “Dew Circuit Breakout” challenge, which The Myriad ended up winning, thanks to several million voters.
The digital-only soundtrack to this urban drama of the same name is only available on iTunes. It’s an interesting mix of different musical styles from hip-hop to pop ballads featuring Lil’Mama, Montell Jordan, Smugglaz, Fenom, Carl Henry, and Kadar, and more.
Hailing from Jersey City, Ransom was an integral member of the A-Team crew that also included Joe Budden and recently slain member Stack Bundles. Recently, Ransom has experienced heightened attention owing to his highly publicized falling out with Budden. Having recorded and/or collaborated with such A-list acts as Lil’ Wayne, Rick Ross, Juelz Santana, Styles P., Sheek Louch, Fabolous, Flo-Rida and more, Ransom’s street and blog-based buzz has reached a fevered pitch.
