Already theres another new film release on the scene with some pretty major names in it. All of you will recognize stars such as Antonio Banderas, Colin Hanks and Meg Ryan. VoMiT tend to deal mostly with DVDRips of low budget films (easy points), but today they bring us a DVDScr of a well rated movie. I don’t know about you, but it feels like I haven’t seen Antonio Banderas since Zorro. Has he been to rehab or something? I still consider him one of the luckiest men on the planet for being able to make “Original Sin” with Angelina Jolie. If you haven’t seen that yet, do so now! This film is also known as “Homeland Security”.

Quality: Good resolution, good video and audio bitrate and just generally a really good looking DVDScreener. There are occasional screener messages, but apart from that this is a DVDRip. The guys from VoMiT are naughty for choosing such a dirty segment for a sample. Have you no morals?

Group VoMiT released a dvd screener of R rated comedy Careless. This isn’t anything spectacular, it features mostly TV actors and operates with a fairly low budget, but it’s still a better movie than most of the VoMiT’s releases. The picture doesn’t go black & white but there are copyright notices from time to time. Besides that, it’s a pretty standard 1 CD rip with fullscreen image resolution.

An offbeat comedy in the style of “Bottle Rocket” and “After Hours”. Wiley Roth finds a severed human finger in his kitchen one night. Understandably freaked out, Wiley and his best friend Mitch try to figure out the mystery of the finger, in a search across Los Angeles that brings them in contact with psychics, ineffectual police, crooked taxidermists, mysterious neighbors who might be on drugs, and a nine-fingered woman named Cheryl who might, improbably, end up being the girl of his dreams.

The second DVDSCR from DoNE tonight is of a movie simply called Bill, and sadly its of a lot lesser quality (the release, idk about the movie). This one stars the hot Jessica Alba whom we may know from recent horrors such as The Eye and Awake, but as far as her acting skill goes, I think its only average. The movie revolves around a guy named Bill, played by Aaron Eckhart whom I mainly know from his recent romance movie No Reservations, and the current IMDB rating is pretty good, so if you’re into this type of comedy, I’d suggest giving this a second thought.

Quality: This is the point where the scene rules piss me off as you can’t achieve a pretty good bitrate and resolution with a film 93 minutes long unless you rip this on 2CDs . The resolution is 528×288 and the bitrate is 910kbit/s, while the audio is your typical MP3 audio with a bitrate of 129kbit/s.

Fed up with his job, his wife, and his life, Bill (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself the reluctant mentor of an unruly, but curiously wise, teenager (Logan Lerman). Bill’s life hits an all time low when he catches his wife (Elizabeth Banks) having an affair with a local news anchor (Timothy Olyphant). With nothing left to lose, he turns to the kid for inspiration and regains his lost sense of self.

Group DoNE which usually specializes in releasing high quality DVDRips but every once in a while drops us a nice DVDSCR, just released a dvd screener of War Inc, an action/comedy with quite a few known names it. John Cusack stars alongside of his sister Joan Cusack with the well known American sweetheart Hillary Duff and judging by the IMDB rating, this might be very well worth the watch.

Quality: Normally we’d see a scene group release a 106 minute movie on 1CD, but the guys from DoNE didn’t follow the trend and released this on 2CDs with a kick ass bitrate of 1630kbit/s. AC3 stereo audio is included as, I presume, there wasn’t a 5.1 track available on the source, but its still pretty good. The NFO doesn’t mention ny bw or watermarks so hopefully there aren’t any annoing ones.

A political satire set in Turaqistan, a country occupied by an American private corporation run by a former US Vice-President (Aykroyd). In an effort to monopolize the opportunities the war-torn nation offers, the corporation’s CEO hires a troubled hit man (Cusack), to kill a Middle East oil minister. Now, struggling with his own growing demons, the assassin must pose as the corporation’s Trade Show Producer in order to pull off this latest hit, while maintaining his cover by organizing the high-profile wedding of Yonica Babyyeah (Duff) an outrageous Middle Eastern pop star, and keeping a sexy left wing reporter (Tomei) in check.

Damn, I got too excited there for a while. I’m sitting here chilling, my pre chan on my left monitor, when suddenly i see the word PreVail in the corner of my eye. Then I notice the DVDSCR tag and I get even more excited. I hit up the sample and check the IMDB and my heart drops. I was hoping for some blockbuster stuff there, which is what PreVail have been supplying recently. This does have some very recognizable actors in it though, so it might be worth a watch (although the IMDB rating dosen’t look too promising).

Quality: Basically as good as the average DVDRip on a single CD if you look past the watermark in the upper right corner which will remind you that this is in fact a DVDScreener. 868kb/s video bitrate and 128kb/s audio bitrate is average. All clear.

“Autumn Hearts: A New Beginning”, aka “Emotional Arithmetic”, is a Drama film starring big names such as Gabriel Byrne, Susan Sarandon and Christopher Plummer. Unfortunately, initial ratings are not promising (14% on RT). As for the quality, it looks very good, but the sample provided is too short to tell for certain. iMMORTALs mention black & white scenes in NFO. All in all, a nice, watchable DVDSCR.

Synopsis: Emotional Arithmetic tells the story of three people who formed a life-long bond while housed at a detention camp during World War II that are reunited some 35 years later after being separated from one another. Jakob Bronski, a young Jewish man, took a shine to two youngsters, Melanie and Christopher, while they were interred, by the Nazis, at Drancy, a housing complex on the outskirts of Paris that was used as a detention camp for Jews. Drancy operated as a way station; once there, having your name put on the wrong list meant relocation to a death camp.

There have been so many crazy college comedies in last few days it’s starting to amaze me. And Wieners kind of fall into the same group, although it’s a rather road movie. Released as dvd screener from group BETAMAX, this is an STV title, but probably much better than last dvdrips from VH-PROD. Quality is pretty much standard for 1 CD.

Hop on board the wiener wagon and take a ride with “Wieners” a hysterical and irreverent new comedy - in the tradition of Harold and Kumar and Road Trip. Three friends embark on a zany cross-country road trip filled with oddball characters, strange bodily fluids and, of course, delicious hot dogs for everyone! Got home and saw that this hadn’t been posted yet so I’m getting down to it. OEM is a well known group that releases DVDRips and DVDScreeners onto the scene. This film looks like it could be quite interesting. The plotline seems to have potential at least but it hasn’t been rated yet on IMDB, so if you watch it make sure you tell us what you thought about it in the comments.

Quality: The qualiy of this release looks very good. There are no watermarks (blurred or otherwise) and no B/W scenes as far as I can see (i.e Black and White scenes that were not meant to be in the film). I just watched the trailer to this and it actually looks like a REALLY creepy film. Click the trailer link before and watch this horror flick. Looks like it’ll be worth your time.

PreVail bring us a DVDScreener of a rather unknown action film this lovely Sunday evening. PreVail have recently been bringing out a lot of CAMS and TeleSyncs, which is what they’re best known for these days, but every once in a while they release a DVDScr or DVDRip which is nice to see. The reviews or ratings of this film don’t make it look too promising. As long as you’re not expecting too much you might have a good time watching it though. There are some recognizable faces in there such as John Leguizamo and Tyrese Gibson. Enjoy.

Quality: The quality of this release looks very good. There are no blurred parts or B/W scenes at all as far as I can see. This is on 1 CD as is most prominent these days.

I saw this trailer at apple trailers page a while ago and have been looking forward to this release. Lets see if this film lives up to its 8.0 IMDB rating. It is released by famous scene group SAPHiRE in the form of a DVDScreener, which is good news. This movie is essentially about poker, but more about losing in poker. Some pretty recognizable faces appear in this film. People who aren’t A-listers but have appeared in major television shows or films, such as Richard Kind, Woody Harrelson, Mike Epps and a personal favourite of mine David Cross (gotta love Arrested Development).

Quality: Image quality looks clear enough for a 1CD rip at a decent 774kb/s bitrate and the audio is above average at 151kb/s. There is a rather annoying blurred watermark at the bottom of the screen but this is not unusual for a DVDScreener. No B/W scenes.

Me and a few other editors at RLSLOG have already posted documentaries and debates about drugs here on rlslog. To me its an interesting issue which is very important but its very hard to know where to stand. The people who are completely FOR the legalization seem to be a bunch of loose hippies, whereas the people who want to ban all recreational drug use all together seem to be a group of uptight pricks who never had a second of fun in their lives. This looks like the decent documentary out of the two. Whereas the next release has a lousy 2.3 rating on IMDB, Super High Me has an excellent 8.6 rating. Only 90 votes so far of course, but its a good indication at least.

Quality: This looks like an excellent quality DVDScreener. Both image and audio quality might as well be a DVDRip and a really great one at that. No B/W scenes or watermarks as far as the eye can see. Enjoy.

Here is the seemingly crappy comedy. It might be that this film contains a lot of gags that only stoners will understand, but taking a second look on the IMDB rating makes me think otherwise. Some people tend to laugh at any kind of drug/sex related jokes though so this might be something for you.

Quality: Image and audio quality both look very good as you can expect from a DVDRip. AC3 audio is included which is good news. No problems here so go ahead and download if this appeals to you.
