Another oldie came online by AXIAL a few hours ago. “Thief” with James Caan. For me the isunknown but maybe for some of you it’s really known. I would like to hear some suggestions of you about this film so we can help out our fellow readers that haven’t seen this film, me included. Enjoy!

In Thief, James Caan plays Frank, a professional jewel thief who wants to marry Jessie (Tuesday Weld) and settle down into a normal life. In order to achieve his dream of a family, Frank–who is used to working solo–has to align himself with a crime boss named Leo (Robert Prosky), who will help him gain the money he needs to begin his domestic life. Frank plans to retire after the heist, yet he finds himself indebted to Leo and he struggles to break free. Thief is the first feature film from director Michael Mann and it seethes with his stylish, atmospheric direction. Though his cool approach may put off some viewers, it’s a distinctive and effective story-telling approach, and Caan’s performance ranks among his very best, making Thief a crime movie like few others.

A movie that many people saw and many hated is Cocktail starring Tom Cruise. Almost 20 years ago Tom Cruise starred in this romantic comedy of the 80’s. I remember me seeing this film years ago as a child, so I don’t think it’s worth it to watch it again. But some people who might be “Tom Cruise” fans or want to re-watch this film, this is a very good release by AXIAL. Enjoy!

After leaving the army, Brian Flanagan trys to get a job in New York. But without a degree, this was not possible. He then decides to start studying for a business degree and gets a part time job as a bartender. He realises its not that easy, but when boss Douglas Koglan teaches him the secrets of the trade they become the most famous bar-men in town. Brian wants his own top class cocktail bar and to get the necessary money travels to Jamaica where work is easier, and pay is good. There he meets Jordan, a young and pretty American artist, and they fall in love. But when he starts an affair with an older and rich woman Jordan leaves… Will she forgive him??

What’s better than posting on Releaselog after a night out and waiting one hour till going to work. AXIAL brought again 4 decent old films and this first one stars Al Pacino. The movie is good rated, looks interesting and I haven’t seen it, so that it’s a good opportunity that AXIAL brings to many of us. The quality is a very good DVDRiP like all the releases this groups brings out. Enjoy!

Shot on location on the crime-filled streets of New York City, Sidney Lumet’s unflinching adaptation of Peter Maas’s best-selling book is a rousing portrait of courage in the face of insidious corruption. This is a motif that Lumet would continue to mine in later films, including 1981’s PRINCE OF THE CITY and 1997’s NIGHT FALLS ON MANHATTAN. Al Pacino is forcefully real as Frank Serpico, an independent young recruit entering the police force in the late 1960s, fulfilling a childhood dream.

The good old boys of the NYPD lose no time in initiating Serpico into the ways of cutting corners, forging documents, and taking payoffs from local gambling operations and narcotic rings. His refusal to take illegal protection money and his counterculture lifestyle make Serpico a target for harassment by his unified and powerful peers. Lumet hones in on the evocative details of Serpico’s personal struggles and inner turmoil as his obsessive fight for truth begins to have disastrous effects on his personal life and threatens his safety. SERPICO is a stellar example of gritty ’70s filmmaking, featuring another electrifying performance from Pacino.

It has been a while that an old movie was been released the past few days. Group JAVLiU remains to release x264 films of popular new and old movies. A few days ago they released the new “Reno 911! – Miami” and “The Last King of Scotland” in x264 version. Samuel L. Jackson, Colin Farrell, Michele Rodriguez and LL Cool J star in this pure action film released in 2003. I really like the tagline of this film: Even cops call 911! It is a low rated moviebut even that I think that people who like action films would check this film. The low rating might has something to do with people thinking that this is a remake and based on the S.W.A.T. series. Samples look great. Enjoy!

The other film that AXIAL brought today is a romantic comedy “Beautiful Girls” from 1996. This film was unknown to me since today, but the 2 reasons that I already have this film is the good IMDB rating and the performance of Natalie Portman, I’m just curious to see how this girl has done in other movies. Another 2CD release in good AXIAL quality. Enjoy!

“Beautiful Girls” takes place in a sleepy New England town, the bucolic home of a group of Generation X-ers involved in a number of romantic goings-on. The film takes a close look at the differences between men and women, particularly in matters of love, sex and relationships. Perhaps the most intriguing pair in the movie is Willie and his (female) neighbor Marty who’s only 13. The streetwise, flirtatious Marty has a killer crush on Willie (who is intrigued by her), but both are well aware that she’s “jail bait.” The duo considers waiting five whole years for Marty to become of age… but can they really do that?

Guess who’s back, Mike is back with 2 new films by AXIAL. The first one is the well known film with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. With a good IMDB rating, this film has been many times on TV and I think many of you have seen it already. I remember me watching this when I was a child and was very amazed by it. Very good action from the past. Enjoy!

Jack Traven is a young S.W.A.T cop in the Los Angeles police department. One morning Jack witnesses a bus explode and Jack receives a phone call from Howard Payne, a retired Atlanta bomb squad explosives expert gone bad, Payne has wired a passenger bus to explode, where if the bus speeds at 50 miles per hour the bomb is armed, if the bus slows down and drops below 50 miles per hour the bus will explode. Payne demands $3-millions dollars and Jack or any of the passengers tries to get off the bus, he will detonate the bomb. Managing to get on the bus, Jack with help of one of the passengers, Annie who is driving the bus when the driver is injured, tries to keep the passengers alive and guide the bus through the traffic, and keep the bus speeding at 50 miles per hour, as the S.W.A.T team and Jack’s partner, explosives expert Harry Temple set to discover Payne’s location and find a way to disarm the bomb before the bomb explodes when the bus runs out of gas.

The last years many super-hero movies appear and some are good and some less good. Here is the Extended Edition of Fantastic Four. The Extended Edition of this movie features more 20 minutes more footage than the theatrical version. Jessica Alba stars in this is bring the spice into all men who watched this film. I have seen the movie and never knew this super-heroes existed, I liked the movie and all the special effects in it. TheWretched is a group that their name doesn’t tell me anything but I think they released something good. Enjoy!
