Plot: A group of murderous criminals decide to make the ultimate snuff film, only to realize that it might not have the ending they expected in bloody, low-budget shocker. If a girl refuses to take off her top during the audition, she is set free; if she agrees, she’s dragged down in the basement with the rest of the “cast.” The following day, on Halloween, the camera rolls and the games begin. Any girl who wins fair and square is granted her freedom, but the ones who don’t meet a bloody end. Just as their masterpiece is nearing completion, however, the girls get the upper hand in a plot twist that no one could see coming.

Her childish logic gives rise to strange ideas: she imagines that if her beloved dog were to die, there would be less likelihood of something happening to her father. Then, when her fatherÆs daily calls begin to dry up and cracks even start to appear in her motherÆs carefully preserved faτade, Kiek decides itÆs time to act. Nicole van KilsdonkÆs non-sensationalist film portrays a problem which is today almost commonplace, as seen through the eyes of a child. The story also touches on existential questions, such as whether it is possible to live oneÆs life without taking risks.
