Casper v4.0.1270 Tech Edition-YAG

YAG group came up with interesting app under the name Casper. By features it’s something similar to well known Acronis True Image. This one is Tech Edition which is more powerful than “normal” Casper edition. If you need disk cloning software give it a shot. But, if you need disk cloning software with additional (more powerful) features go for Acronis (my personal opinion). P.S. I’ve included “normal” version of Casper (in download links), just in case if u need it.

Description:

With Casper Tech Edition upgrading hard disks on desktop PCs and laptops has never been faster or easier. Casper Tech Edition clones all popular Windows configurations, including all 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista™ Ultimate, Windows Vista™ Home Premium, Windows Vista™ Home Basic, Windows Vista™ Business, Windows Vista™ Enterprise, Windows Vista™ Starter Edition, Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Home Edition, Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, Windows XP Media Center Edition, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows ME, Windows 98SE, Windows 98, and Windows 95.

Exclusive SmartClone™ technology dramatically reduces the time required to perform managed backups by safely eliminating the redundant transfer of data during the cloning process.

The Casper Tech Edition CD greatly simplifies cloning hard disks for deployment to new computer systems. When used in combination with Microsoft’s Sysprep utility, hard disk images can be sealed and deployed via direct disk-to-disk cloning.

Casper Tech Edition runs directly from a network share, CD, or USB key. The Casper Tech Edition CD makes it possible to boot a system and run Casper Tech Edition directly from a CD-ROM drive or USB key with full access to external media devices including USB and Firewire hard disks.

Key Features:

  • Ideal for hard disk upgrades, managed backups, and sealed disk image deployment.
  • Quickly clones Windows system hard disks, including all 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista™ Ultimate, Windows Vista™ Home Premium, Windows Vista™ Home Basic, Windows Vista™ Business, Windows Vista™ Enterprise, Windows Vista™ Starter Edition, Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Home Edition, Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, Windows XP Media Center Edition, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows ME, Windows 98SE, Windows 98, and Windows 951,2
  • Supports any size or type of hard disk recognized by Windows, including all ATA/IDE, SATA, SCSI, USB, and Firewire drives — even hardware RAID arrays.
  • Automatic partition resizing and file system conversion during the cloning process.

    thx, but…
what would you trust, a well known and working Acronis product or an unknown what not?

    my choice will remain Acronis

Did Symantec quit this partition business line? They acquired Partition Magic just to kill it and continued to offer Ghost which is pure crap. Now, Ghost is not updated anymore. Good for us though! :D

I concur with commneter# 1. I much prefer using ACRONIS as opposed to the othet top brand-name software on the market today.

If there is any other program similar to Acronis TrueImage I’ll choose it. TrueImage is suxx. And it fails much more frequent than Ghost (but now Ghost don’t support new hardware, I know =_=)

I’ve used Acronis a bunch but if you want something with no bloat CASPER is great. I’ve had zero problems with any disk clone it has done. Of course a FREE option is DriveXML by Runtime software.

why posting useless rapidshare pay/limited links instead of putting up a simple torrent instead?

    Thanks for this.
I have used Acronis in the past, but wanted to try this with SmartClone tech. It took 3.5 hours clone my 100 GB drive, and only 15-30 minutes to clone again!
UNFORTUNATELY, the clone will NOT boot up via USB. Do I have to swap out my laptop drive to boot ?
I think Acronis allowed me to boot via USB.
    Anyone have any suggestions ?

Casper works really well. I work in the IT field and use it quite a bit. Good for cloning a system while the system is on…….
