Call of Duty 4 Demo
Well we usually don’t inform about new demoversions, but this game deserves a small exception and there haven’t been any spectacular scene releases in last hours: Newly released demo of Activisons’ Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare just succeeded to basically stop the internet. It was caused by a really stupid move from Yahoo – they offered the demo exclusively on Yahoo Games with requirement of registration. The size of this installation file is 1.4 GB and Yahoo somehow underestimated demand for such a game and put the file on a single server, which resulted in the unbelievably slow download speed and hours of waiting for all gamers.
Luckily for you, there are other gaming sites slowly mirroring the file and offering a slightly better speeds and also a first torrent at TPB, but don’t expect anything fast anyway. There’s no need to introduce this game, I’ll leave your opinion about the new game environment and graphics for comments. The full game is due November 6. Have fun!

Played the 360 beta the real way by getting a key and I couldn’t stop playing.
BTW, torrent is MUCH faster. I am downloading at about 66 kb/s
and im downloading at 40 terrabyte/s. yada jada, intrests club is writing it down.

Sure the graphics look nice and I can play it with everything maxed out but IMHO it’s just the same old scripted linear BS.

Looking back to comment 1; The F.E.A.R. demo, wasn’t that like 1.8 gigs? Wasn’t that the most popular fps at one point?? Anyways. It’s still crazy how 8 gigs can be compressed into 1.4. That’s one hell of a [full version] demo. I can’t wait until they do, “Call of Duty 10: Terrorists Vs. Counter-Terrorists”.

was gonna get this for 360 since i thought my computer had no chance in hell of running it, it turned out it ran it smoother than any of my games basically and graphics looks excellent, perhaps ill just dl it when it goes live!.
If I wasnt getting Mandriva 2008.0 I would get this. Everything is coming out all at once its a little overwhelming.

Prince of persia sands of time is the best of the series.. I played the other 2 and its not that great. Don’t get me wrong the graphics and the music are great but its a little boring.

Optimum system specs are nonsense though. I raised them much higher with no noticeable performance hit. Can’t wait for the game!
I have one big problem with this game.
There is no recoil when firing weapons.
This is why Day of Defeat remains the best military shooter out there. The weapon use is far far more realistic, with varying recoil for each weapon type. This requires more skill from the player to get rounds on target.
COD, MOH, etc jjust can’t cut it in this respect. I know a lot of people want easy shooters but I’m a bit different
This demo looks very nice though, however eye candy doesn’t make a game good. My PC isn’t quite up to the minimum spec (I have core 2 duo 1.6ghz and mobility radeon x1700 256mb on Asus lappy) but it plays very nicely with no problems.
Whingers, the point of the demo is mainly to see that the gameplay works on your rig before you fork out $50 or 5GB of downloads.
5GB of download is not $50….
your computer is way above minumum system requirements…

just a bit mis-information about downloading from yahoo game. it support flashget. i was able to get it in just under 2hr
played it . huge environment with smart AI, there are more objectives this time around compare to cod2 demo. but quite easy to accomplished
the demo should be enough for those hardcore fans awaiting the launch date unless you like me who crave for more no matter how full is your stomach
