CAM released by CAMERA. Haven’t heard of this movie. Think I won’t catch it since the genre says Musical… It’s a cam, so quality ain’t that good. Video sample included+ RS links can be found in the first comment(since the forums are still down). Enjoy

This movie is based on the true story of how a small music recording studio, Chess Records, located on the south side of Chicago, began recording blues music with Muddy Waters (Jeffrey Wright) and Little Walter (Columbus Short) in 1947, and eventually gave birth to rock and roll in 1955 with Chuck Berry (Mos Def). Record producer, Leonard Chess (Adrien Brody) has an ear for this different type of music, and believes he can cash in by signing up new talent such as songwriter, Willie Dixon (Cedric the Entertainer), Howlin’ Wolf (Eamonn Walker), and Etta James (Beyonce Knowles). Leonard Chess makes all of his artist part of his family and takes care of them. This is not an easy job for him, because they spend a small fortune on booze, drugs, and the high life. When Chuck Berry goes to jail, Leonard is able to find another talented performer, Etta James, to take his place. In the late sixties, as their music goes out of favor, Leonard Chess gets out of the record business.

    well. guys i’ve heard that this release is out of sync and this issue start at the minute 30 and keeps on until the movie finish …

    any comment on this ?

    I dunno if Frado deserves props or not to admitting to being close-minded (not watching s movie because you don’t usually care for the genre). Very interesting. You could be missing out on a good movie.

    Frado might want to read a review or two before he offers an opinion about the nature of a movie. From what I’ve read, he’s got this one wrong. I don’t mind cams here, tho I have to be desperate to watch one. What I’m not enthralled by is having to page through so many TV programs.

    Awesome movie. Quality is ok. It is watchable though. Amazing how closley related I am to this my gpa owned CobraRecords who recorded the blues before he sold it.
