CABELAS BIG GAME HUNTER 2009-ADDICTION

I never really understood why would someone want to spend endless hours shooting game on PC, but these hunter games are backed by Activision and sell quite decent amount of copies every month, so there must be some magic around it. ADDICTION released a new version CABELAS BIG GAME HUNTER 2009 recently, so if you want to capture even more wild animals, this hunting game is exactly for you. No crack needed.

In Cabela’s Legendary Adventures the missions are based on encounters with some of the most famous animals ever hunted in the wild. Featuring amazing once-in-a-lifetime stories Cabela’s aims to capture the essence of what hunting is all about: a quest for a legendary experience. Players will hunt in different eras in search of trophies such as white-tailed deer, Yukon moose, Alaskan brown bear and Roosevelt elk in over ten of North America’s top hunting locations, including Kodiak Island, the Yukon, and the Rocky Mountains.

Each location in Cabela’s Legendary Adventures is a visually stunning open outdoor environment that encourages exploration and tactical variation. Shooting mechanics have been developed to reflect modern as well as historical hunting technology, so players relive the hunts complete with detail from specific time periods. Under Cabela’s guidance, the firearms, tactics and gear in Cabela’s Legendary Adventures are as true to real life as a game will allow. There will also be a variety of additional hunts featuring over 30 species of other big game, small game, waterfowl, upland birds, and turkey.

Game features:

  • Hunt in different eras in search of trophies such as white-tailed deer, Yukon moose, Alaskan brown bear and Roosevelt elk

I can run over pedestrians in GTA to my heart’s content, but this simulation of hunting makes me sick.

Let us attack animals for sport with nothing but our bare hands on an equal level, then see how many people decide to enjoy it for sport.

Sport hunters are all w4nkers and should be shot themselves.

What’s that got to do with this game about the process of the hunt itself? The only difference between a hunter and a sports hunter is one eats his kills, the other leaves it to rot away – both are irrelevent in this case.

    A 3G BGH, that’s a first.

theres nothing wrong with hunting as long as you eat what you kills… and whether many of you self-righteous damn the hunters to hell b*tches don’t realize is this…that for many species of animals such as deer, bear and assorted other species, hunting has become a necessary part of preservation for said species… a bunch of you may criticize the practice of hunting but it’s the destruction of habitat and food sources for these animals thats made it necessary to do so… and it’s no fault of anything but “MANKIND” itself… people want shopping malls, big houses highways amusement parks and god knows what else and haves no problem bulldozing forests, damming up rivers draining lakes and whatever else they do to makes these buildings… and no one complains… but as soon as someone shoots a deer or another animal they’re raising hell and saying we’re killing this and they’re so evil… what you fail to realize is this… with all the destruction of the food sources and habitat… there is little food and places for these animals to live and if there are no hunters to cull the population they would slowly but surely die out from starvation and sickness… so if you really cares look in the mirror and you’ll see who’s to blame

oh ands by the way… no i’m not a hunter… finds it much easier to shoot people…

With all the twisted games out there today, I find it hard to believe people are actually upset with this game.. Obviously they have no idea of the extensive list of games out there that are offensive. I am all for animal rights, but that is not what this is about.. it is about a game.. It’s ok for ultra violent games about gangs and murder, drugs and senseless killing.. but don’t pretend to hunt a deer on your pc.. shame on you… What is the matter with you, that you can’t tell the difference between a game and reality.. I would rather someone go out and hunt a deer and feed his family for weeks, than for someone to come up to me on the street and shoot me in the head just cause they think its fun.. Relax.. it is a game. Next your going to complain about The Big Rig games because of the price of gas, and how their polluting our air… Or the classic game paperboy, because its child labor.. The best part of it being a game, is it is not real..

Seems as if they’re a few animal rights activists here. Why do you think animals were put here to begin with ? They’re a food source and if you can’t come to terms with that, then you have mental issues beyond any psychiatric help.

This is not what ADDICTION says this is at all!!!

This is actually Big Game Hunter 2008 and has absolutely nothing to do with Cabela’s Legendary Adventures whatsoever.

Thanks for sharing, but this is just labelled incorrectly.

I really enjoyed “Alaskan Adventure” and “African Safari” on the Playstation2 console. I’m glad this one has North American fowl as well, cause that was one of my favorite events in the other titles. Also i liked getting drunk and hunting snowshoe rabbits with a snowmobile and a shotgun :D . Is really much more fun than it sounds, provided you have an appreciation of the natural world. I can recommend this series not only as a hunting simulator, but as a fun, relaxing way to spend your time.

On a side note— as a collective, we are the Gods of this planet, but as individuals, we are merely beasts. There should be no complaint about the content of this game from ANYONE. Is just a way to satisfy the natural sweet tooth of our heritage, and is really fun to do it. No “precious animals” actually die, yet we still get some of the thrilling sensation of tracking and killing these legendary beasts. Is really a more respectable outlet of aggression than a lot of the more popular titles out there. I’d prefer my children play this game over some kind of Grand Theft or miscellaneous sci-fi military porn.

News flash…there IS no such thing as a Vegan or a Vegie, you shed skin each night from your face and you breath it in through your nose or your mouth and your body CONSUMES it. So medically speaking … it is IMPOSSIBLE for any human to eat just veggies. And if you are in Europe, watch out cause those crazy Europeans have given rights to plants as well. So if you dont eat meat and now you have to be careful about plants, what exactly are you going to eat?

Lol, I never had problems unpacking… it’s so easy! Just use ALZip (or alternative ZipGenius; both freeware). After downloading rightclick the .rar file. If no .rar file there, use the first .r00 or .00 one. After rightclicking use the menu and select extract here. It will automatically extract all the parts to join into the file you need. :D Easy! About Big Game Hunter, the 2005 Deer Hunter was wicked, but this looks top notch! I gotta try this out! ;) Thanks.

    September 23rd, 2008 | 14:43

Ah sorry… :O I think I might have misleaded you there. Though fact is ALZip also supports unpacking of .ISO files it is not made for emulation thereof. Use a dedicated image reader such as the Slysoft virtual CloneDrive or Deamon tools. Should be able to handle .iso, .nrg, .daa, bin, cue, mds, mdf, dmg. ;)

If you pansies had to fend for yourselves, you would be kissing some hunters sweet @ss to keep from starving. I like a little dolphin in my tuna too, mutherf****r!

  60. Casper
    September 24th, 2008 | 19:16

This game actually isnt that great compared to other Cabela’s titles. The environments are very linear, you have no choice as to which animals you wish to hunt, you cant pick your camouflage, and the world is so overpopulated with animals, theres really no “hunting” involved… you can seriously just stand there after the maps load up, and the animals youre supposed to track down will just run right in front of you and stand still.

Your best bet for a good hunting game is “Alaskan Adventure” on the Playstation2. It lets you drive ATVs and motorboats and such, it features an large database of animals, including fish, has larger more open environments, and has a hunting lodge where you can see your best trophies displayed with detailed descriptions. The list of excellent features goes on and on, but i think you get the idea.

This may be the best “looking” Cabela’s title, but compared to other games in the series, it just isnt as engaging. Is worth a play if you like hunting games, or are new to the genre and find the idea compelling, but there are better titles available. Also I’m pretty sure this is Big Game Hunter 2008, as the game doesnt match the screenshots posted on this page.
