Unlike other products, it can analyze the data packets (where they come from, where they go, which port and protocol they use). I use bitmeter for measuring my bandwidth a month. You'd never think you'd need one of these, but now that they are enforcing bandwidth limits. I say you do. Just so you know where you stand. You'd be sirprised how much bandwidth you suck up each day. Especially if your a downloader. Remember your bandwidth cap is UPLOAD + DOWNLOAD.. :( .. AT&T guys only get 150.. and comcast guys get 250. If you got comcast it translates roughly in 8 gig a day, which sounds like a lot. But if your really downloading fast. You'll eat that quick. Last month I had my upload set at like 200k.. And used 150 GB in like 10 days I was PETRIFIED!
