He's just an anti-semetic, racist nobody. If you want proof read the biography on his site. http://www.burzum.org/eng/biography.shtml
His lack of talent and need for attention is pathetic.

I find it ironic that he predicts the rise of paganism (yet another misguided organized religion) as he whines about Judeo-Christianity and it's believers. The big surprise for everyone will be the day we die and find out the only thing left to do is fertilize the flowers.

I´d rather have my ears cut off and fed to the pigs than listen to this piece of **** excuse for metal. I hope Varg burns in the hell he so avidly promotes! RLSlog should be ashamed of still having this CD on their page!

Wow! That's a lot of angry people! Cool!! I didn't think Burzum could stir up so much controversy these days, but all the glory to him. The music from Varg Vikernes is brilliant without debate, so go cry somewhere else.

I hope that rlslog doesn't give in to censorship from the masses, strange how people in the defence of there freedom want too restrict others in their's.

no disrespect to the furher!

N.E.R.D. - In Search Of… [2002]

Album Cover:
http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/3698/nerdinsearchofkf4.jpg

N.E.R.D. are nothing if they’re not clever, and they brilliantly constructed a back-story to accompany their debut album, In Search Of… As every rock critic in the Western world has said in his review of the album, they originally released the record in Europe, then decided it was crap, withdrew it, re-recorded it with a live band, and then released it worldwide. Now this story is probably true — as the first album by the band driven by the powerhouse production team the Neptunes (though these are not interchangeable terms, as they went to great lengths to make clear in the promo interviews), there was a lot riding on this record, so it had better be right — but it certainly helped them get valuable press, elevating this record to a near-event level.

So, is In Search Of… worth the hoopla? Well, pretty much. Musically, it’s a lively affair, breaking free of the signature approximated-Prince beats, as they borrow heavily from classic soul, breakbeat aesthetics, and postmodern alt-culture, tying it together with live beats. It pretty much deliberately does everything that most modern rap does not do, and it’s hard not to embrace it for that very fact. Alas, there are flaws, mainly in the raps, which are hardly as nimble as the music; actually, they’re rather clumsy and embarrassing, especially since they attempt to cover “socially relevant” issues (i.e., politicians are equated with strippers).

Choruses that croon that “She needs me/Because I’m the sh*t” are hard to stomach, no matter how supple the music is (or how ironic the delivery), but if you can ignore that, In Search Of… does provide genuine musical thrills. Although, be forewarned — it’s easy to overrate this record simply because it deviates from the norm at a time when nobody deviates from the norm or has deviated from the norm in years. With better lyrics and a little less smirking hipsterism, it could have been the record it was intended to be, but as it stands, it’s still a pretty terrific listen and one of the most adventurous, intriguing hip-hop albums in a long, long time. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

Off topic this will be, and no doubt very long, but I need to clarify my point.. I apologize from the uninterested crowd, though this may yet be good read..

Hey Viktor,
I know that SoaD members are Armenians Americans, and I know the background of the band. One more thing I know for sure is that the genocide claims of 1915 is not true; I should know, I am a historian in a respectable college (check my nick to see which one). I can understand your feelings as an Armenian, I have Armenian colleagues and friends here as well as Turkish ones; and the air between is bittersweet at best..

It is very natural for a nation to dislike another when they are neighbors, and especially when one has lived under the rule of the other for centuries. To give an example from the Balkans, many Macedonians and Greeks hate each other too (they spent hundreds of years under each other's rules). Considering that Greece, Bulgaria, Armenia, Serbia and Romania were all lands of the Ottomans for about half a millenium, them hating Turks is hardly surprising.

The thing is, Armenians started going to America way before World War I, first groups came as early as a century before that; so they didn't escape to come here, no. During the exodus, the Armenians that escaped mainly went to todays Armenia anyway, it wasn't that you could have boarded a ship to America when the whole world was in war..

The claims of genocide against Armenians is probably one of the biggest political misdirections of the past century. To rejuvanate the waning public support of WWI in England, British Information and Propoganda Office produced two books; the notorious 'Red Book' and 'Blue Book', telling the atrocities of Germany against their minorities and Ottomans against Armenians respectively. These books were written in first person account by people that never left London; and the goal was to show the barbarism of 'the enemy'. Both books were bogus, and their authors themselves repeatedly admitted that they were nothing but tools of propoganda later on.. Right after the war Germans were smart enough to get the Red Book internationally discredited, the Turks weren't. Therefore you can't expect Turks to admit they slaughtered 1.5 million Armenians when the truth is quite different.

The truth is a sad story of the evils of politics. I have personally read quite a lot of official and rare documents that showed that English and French provoked the Armenian minority of Eastern Asia Minor, a group of people that had never even rebelled once during 600+ years of Ottoman Rule, to take up arms while the great majority of the Ottoman Army was busy fighting in Middle East and Gallipoli. Their plan was to force Turks' hands to return the army to fight the Armenian rebels and take them out from the war completely, thus being able to focus on Germany, who at the time, was basically rolling over everyone else in Europe. They had a moderate success, being defeated in Gallipoli and reaching a stalemate in Middle East, they crippled the Ottoman War effort and could redirect most of their troops back to Europe; but the poor Armenians were suddenly left all alone at the mercy of the incoming Turkish armies. It is widely noted and accepted that Armenian 'committees' (small bands of rebels) killed about 150 000 innocent people before the armies showed up; whole villages were wiped out and I've seen photos of them, photos you wouldn't want to see. They killed not only Turks, but also Jews, Arabs and Kurds as well.

When the armies came, began the retaliations of the local populace and the Sultan issued a decree, ordering all Armenians to leave the country. He paid for most of their belongings, and I must add, asked them to return when the war is over, but of course it was a terrible decision; for while he gave them money, he didn't give them food. During the exodus of Armenians, most headed to Russia, some headed to todays Syria and Iraq; but with the increasing retaliations and lack of food, about 250 000 of them died. Yes, 250k, not 1.5 M; there wasn't that many Armenians in the whole Ottoman Empire at the time! I believe 1.1 million is the number, and more than half were living in Western Asia Minor, where none of these sad things happened. Of course the loss of lives of a quarter million is staggering; yet it is hardly a genocide, but more of a retaliation, a punishment of rebelling..

My goal was to lay the facts, not to engage in some sort of a discussion; and even though I will understand if you question the validity of my words, the thing to take with a grain of salt is history itself, especially when written by the victors as it usually is. Most of the time the distorted, changed, abused or simply wrong 'facts' are the primary reason why history indeed repeats itself; and it is our duty to find the truth, no matter how hard it may be to face or swallow..

My message may seem slightly off topic, but some of cornellian`s comments in post number 43 are not absolutely true need to be reacted on. So please dont delete this message or ban me.

ercornellian Hi! I just wanted to clarify something about SOAD. TO be precise it should be told that SOAD are not nazis (despite they do hate Turks) and I will explain why. I dont know how interesting that is for you, but SOAD members are Armenians living in the USA. In some of their music videos you can notice the Armenian flag flashing at times on the background. Also their second names are ending with "...yan" or "...ian" as most of the Armenian second names do. Most Armenians as well as Greeks, Serbs etc. dislike Turks. All these nations except for Turks are christians and generally seaking the Turks historically have always punished them for that. Particularly Armenia was once in the Ottoman Empire and in 1915 the Turks commited genocide on Armenians slaughtering over 1 500 000 people including women, children and old people. As a result those Armenians who somehow managed to escape are spread all over the world including USA where SOAD got togather. So you cant blame them for hating people who commited genocide over their nation including their grandgrandparents. For hating the people who took their houses, money and relatives. And the main reason why SOAD are making public their hate for Turks is that Turks never admited they commited all those crimes. For example Germans admitted they commited genocide against Jews. And that is what all the Armenians are crying out to the world about. They want justice, we want (as I am also Armenian) Turkey to acknowledge the fact of genocide took place indeed. As soon as Tukey does that we will no longer hate the Turks of modern generation. Thats all explained briefly. If you or anybody would like to discuss this issue you are welcome to write me to hamazasp@gmail.com however I do realize it doesnt intereset a lot of people of no Armenian or Turkish origin.

As for the music I dont know any of the other bands that are described in the cooment except for Marilyn Manson so I cant compare them with SOAD or comment on them being nazis.

Cheers.

If you hate Burzum for being ultranationalist, racist or simply violent; then you shouldn't listen to many other people either, say, System of a Dawn or Marilyn Manson; as they hate Turks and, well pretty much everything respectively:)..

The interesting thing is, these racist pigs aren't good at making music as well; so while Burzum, SoaD, MM or others may be passable, they aren't anywhere near good bands that don't try to promote themselves through hate..

Zomg omg he is nazi don't listen to him rarrr.

No matter what he believes or what he has done, it doesn't alter the fact that he wrote some great music. If you want to cross out people with off-kilter ideologies then you'd be ignoring a huge amount of the greatest thinkers, inventors and creators the world has ever seen.

But yer, one luss reader 4 rlslog.
