Only player I only downloaded that has a message of “includes spyware but it is good spyware so don’t worry”. Right… took a good hour to get rid of the “good” crappy extras. But this torrent is the Pro version. Would it be any different?

VLC is ok, but only if all else fails, it is the best video player if all you want to do is play a file and WMP wont work… but vlc playback quality is mediocre if that, only becuase it uses its own standalone codecs…

but by far the best player is Media Player Classic… and anyone complaining about codecs and updates, etc.. should just download k-lite codec pack, MPC is also included with…

BS/BSPro is a waste of time, dont even use video software that you have to pay for, even if you can download cracks etc. and use it for free… unless of cause you have a mac, but even now, mplayer is good enough…

Media Player Classic to movie You can do allmost anything with this.Media Player Classic combined with Divx 6.x codec gives a new boost to old and bad resolutions films. Use VLC and Zoomplayer with trouble.

I tend to find that the guys that REALLY edit and convert videos always use Media Player Classic and VLC. Both have a small footprint but extensive configuration options. I tend to find that the prettier the interface, the less options and performance of the program. I’m an avid Overclocker and tend to use uglier but higher performance software. (Utorrent, MPC, VLC, OutPost Firewall, NOD/Kaspersky, RegSupreme Pro, VirtualDubMod ect)

Since the previous version another protection system is implemented, the player terminates after a few seconds even with a working k*yg*n. Before installing (I reinstalled 2.14 build 942), I would like to know if someone encountered this same problem with this version?

For years, I use 3 video players:
VLC, BS player and Zoom Player.
VLC being the main choice.

Actually I use Zoom Player or BS player for presentations. It handles better playlists in my opinion. It is way more convenient to take screenshots. As the timeline in VLC is kinda retarded.
And yes, the subtitles are annoying in VLC if in separated files.
If the film has subs and come in 2cds, you will have to go to load the sub file in the middle of the film. Unlucky.

So VLC all the way? No not for me.

VLC rocks on both my Ubuntu and Mac. Why should I bother to look elsewhere ?

Spam protection: Sum of 5 + 8 ? … had to use my brain for that!

By the way, not many movie releases on rlslog since a few months… What’s that deal?

You all missed the greatest feature of all with this player: You can play anything directly from .rar -files without unpacking them first. Even seeking works (try that with unrar piped to mplayer/vlc or VLCRAAR etc). It will also work with subtitles as usual when playing from rar files. Go get it!
