thank you for keeping things fresh. This looks Interesting. I’ve seen people detox off of alcohol and Heroine. It was not a fun thing to watch. I am glad that they are releasing programs like these. I hope that Americans can take this serious.

The problem in Britain is the healthcare system, which is not geared to pre-emptive medicine as the American system is.

Sure, the NHS provides medical treatment regardless of whether a citizen has paid into National Insurance…but each Primary Care Trust has to balance their budgets, and programs that are considered pre-emptive treatments are cut first.

good program this although i personally thought they should have had a heroin addict on and shown what that was like. most drugs are very hard to get off and it takes an awful lot of will power to do so. alcohol is a terrible drug to come off becuse of the psychological and physical effects, benzo’s too are really difficult due again being psychological and physical. crack also is very addictive but more so in the mind than the body. iv had drug problems from age 19 and im 36 now and of all the drugs that are hard to come off i must say heroin has been the worst cos of the physical withdrawl, not to mention in your head. you need some serious willpower to come off the old brown.

and before anyone starts slagging drug addicts off just remember that most people seriously addicted to drugs started becuse of other problems in life, drugs are used as a coping mechanism becuse they block out all the hurt and pain (esspecially opiates). i got a stage where scoring was an automatic thing like on autopilot, and when you constantly re-enforce that habit everyday and most times three times a day for years and years then when it comes to giving it up it is just so damn hard. when i went in rehab after injecting heroin for years the withdrawl was horrendous, an absolute nightmare, an hour seems like a day and a day a week, anyone who says its just like flu seriously doesent know what they are talking about.

il make this my last post cos i know im harping on a bit now. unfortunatly alot of addicts turn to crime to fund their drug habits, i think alot of the negative effects of drug use like crime, prostitution ect ect are caused becuse most drugs are illigal. does drugs being illigal help? definatly not. im not saying you should make all drugs free to everybody, but you should make them available under controlled conditions legally for serious addicts. the war on drugs is a failiure and has been from the start, but we keep pumping millions into it when it doesent even work. if that money was put to good use actually helping addicts instead of making criminals out of them then i think addicts would have a better quality of life all round and they wouldent be out on the rob/selling their bodies for the next fix. just like the war on terror the war on drugs will never ever be won, and anyone who truly thinks it can be is very nieve.

    il shut up now

Cocaine in any form is hard to get off, but Crack really does take a hold on you. I’ve done heroine, but i thank god that i never shot up. If i Would have never seen anyone withdraw from it i think that i could have gone down a worse path. But luckily that experience scared me off of dope, even though i did take a lot of pills. Unfortinatly the one who was withdrawing was my wife and we did it all from home. It nearly killed her and she just changed her addiction to alcohol and coke. I wasn’t smart enough to stay away from that devil though. but i thank god that today i am completely clean. I don’t even drink.

“I hope that Americans can take this serious” -what does that even mean? Why americans?

Also opiates are opiates. smoked, snorted shot, H or oxy. Same addiction. So the “thank god I never shot” comment is more of stigma/ image thing.

And lastly – Anyone see any sign of this torrent yet? I’d really like to watch this one and don’t see it anywhere yet. I don’t have any super-have-it-12-hrs-early sites though. I hope it shows up eventually. the last show that looked interesting “rogue traders” never did show up.

“Also opiates are opiates. smoked, snorted shot, H or oxy. Same addiction. So the “thank god I never shot” comment is more of stigma/ image thing.”

Shooting dope is far more addictive than snorting/smoking them. Same with coke or meth. Shooting directly releases a large amount of drug into the bloodstream all at once and rushes to the brain. Immediate and intense bliss. You want to smoke/snort over and over or just one time, all at once? Avoiding the needle is wise…
