Brave 2007 DVDRip XviD-WiRA

So a slightly late post on this one (while I was sleeping nobody seems to have posted this, so here we are). Here comes a Thai action movie, brought to you by WiRA. I’ve only seen a few action movies from Thailand in the past, but they’ve all been awesome, especially Tony Jaa films (Ong-Bak, Tom yum goong), so this might very well be worth a download. Thx to WiRA for bringing out a more unusual film.

Edit: I now watched the trailer which I posted below, and it looks awesome!! Watch it, I’m sure it will appeal to action buffs!

Quality: Again quality looks like your standard 1CD DVDRip. Since the language spoken in this release is Thai, naturally English subtitles are included. Enjoy.

A martial artist is forced by a Thai mafia gang to steal client information from a bank in exchange for his brother, who has been kidnapped by the gang. When the gang kicks it up by strapping explosives to the man’s brother, the man decides it is time to strike back.

there is a dvdscr of jumper out, Jumper.DVDSCR.PAL.DVDR-Jumper
not sure if the video has b&w or watermarks, but it has 5.1 sound to mux with the r5.

    March 13th, 2008 | 16:41

@5, on that release (jumper.DVDSCR.PAL.DVDR-Jumper), it is p2p, but it says
    “Dolby Digital 5.1 English
    Dolby Digital 5.1 Russian
DTS Russian” which i doubt highly, that alone would probably be more than 4.3 gigs… so it is probably fake

The knee kick must be the trademark of Thai action movies. The trailer sucks and it looks like it could be ong-bak but just filmed somewhere else. I will pass

actually, this brave movie is a collaboration between Thailand & Malaysian actors. The movie hits Thailand first, but still not entering Malaysian cinemas (still in dubbing session, I guess). Haha, now I can get this via torrent before the others!!Thanx a lot.

pa, there’s nothing special about thai movies other than the muay thai fighting style…so unless ur an action only person, u can watch this, if not, skip it.

  22. Bruce
    March 13th, 2008 | 19:08

    @12 and @21

It’s not true to say that thai movies are nothing special.
Like Korea Thailand is beginning to produce good films. Ok,there is still some rubbish made. But at least they try do to do refreshing things in action movies.

Have you seen a movie called “Shutter”. That is one of the best horror films around! And the studio’s who brought you Ong Bak and Tom Yung Goong have made another movie with a female version of Tony Jaa. Who also does all her stunts self. And she combines muay thai with other styles. It’s called Chocolate (2008) and you can find the trailer on Youtube.

And @12 How can you decide to skip a movie purely based on a trailer? Shouldn’t you read some reviews first.

Personally I am glad that Thailand is making movies like this since Hollywood,Hongkong and even Korea are failing to do so.

@22, I agree that Thailand has brought out some really kick ass movies, but this one doesn’t look that great. It may be better if they saved some of the best stuff for the movie.

On the other hand, I checked out that chocolate trailer on youtube, and it looks bad ass.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGjUyu9c8Ng

anyone know where to get that movie in english subs?

  26. Bruce
    March 13th, 2008 | 20:08

Just watched some scenes from the movie. It is not that bad.
It is more a comedy than an action movie. The main charachter is not a martial artist, but a stuntman. He does show some good stuff. So it’s not of the same level of Ong Bak etc. but I think it will be enjoyable enough.

@25 Here is the link for Chocolate with subs. It is a cam however and the subs are just readable. Download is fast.
I am going to wait for better quality however since I am afraid that most of the movie is out of focus.

    @25 Hatchet

I don’t know if you have seen “Born to fight” (Thai movie). It is an amazing action movie. A group of men and women are not all martial artists but are disciplined in other areas. Like gymnastics,or American Football. It is fun to see how they use their sport to beat the bad guys.

    March 13th, 2008 | 20:18

Right on! Been waiting to see if this would actually be reviewed or if it was the dreaded “dig through mininova” syndrome again. Thanks for the heads up in Thai releases. :D

For those unaware, Thailand = Birthplace of Muay Thai or The Art of Eight Limbs. Hence the high-flying knees and elbows.

And Korean detective stories are some of the best in the world.

The trailer looks decent, but does not represent the movie well. It makes it look like an action movie but it’s not. I think it was intended as a comedy/slap-stick thing. But damn is this movie bad. Perhaps it’s all lost in translation, because it’s more silly than funny.

Well, this movie is waste of time and bandwith. No story, at least none making sense, and the action sequences are average at best… Nearly no acting from the “actors” is present and the subs do miss quite a lot of conversation made…

    Don’t download, you’ve been warned.
