“Bored To Death” is an upcoming HBO comedy due to premiere next Sunday. Following a painful breakup with his girlfriend, a struggling thirtysomething writer with a drinking problem in Brooklyn decides to emulate his heroes from the novels of Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett. He takes out an ad pretending to be a private detective and starts taking cases — solving some and making others worse. FFNDVD have released the DVDSCR for the first two episodes. EP 1.1 Stockholm Syndrome
Broken up after his breakup with his girlfriend Suzanne, Jonathan Ames reads through Farewell My Lovely, his favorite book by Raymond Chandler. Enlivened by the novel, Ames places an online advertisement as an unlicensed private investigator. His first unwitting client who seeks his services is a 19-year-old girl looking for her missing sister.
EP 1.2 The Alanon Case
As Jonathan tries to mend his relationship with Suzanne, another case falls onto his lap. This time, he is tasked by a woman named Jennifer to gather proof of her boyfriend Gary’s infidelity. Jonathan, who learns his new client loves to drink as much as he does, tracks down Gary and stumbles upon an unsatisfying outcome.

Zach Galifianakis, YAY!
This certainly sounds like a promising new series. Premiere is on this Sunday, 20th on HBO at 9:30. It stars Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson and Zach Galifianakis, I expect a good chemistry between them.

The watermark is HUGE. It literally says HBO in size 160 font in the middle of the entire frame.
I hadn't heard of this show before. I'm watching it now, huge logo and all. So far, it's not appealing to me at all, so I doubt that I'll be downloading it in future, even without the logo.
Well, Bored To Death is a very apt title for this show. That's what I felt like after watching the first episode and about half of the second. Definitely not for me.

worth watching…obviously the show without the huge hbo logo would be nice, but the dialog is the best part! cmon!
its like wes anderson comedy (bottle rocket, rushmore, the life aquatic with steve zissou, The darjeeling limited, The royal tenenbaums……..) If you like them, you'll be watching hbo every sun! makes my hbo worthwhile…finally.
This will be airing in less than a week, I don't think I'll strain myself waiting for something watchable.
