That's not totally true! They could take the footage and do what they did with Polar Express and Journey to the Centre of the Earth making it Anaglyph!

Anaglyph is okay and has always been a gimmik 3D format. Some scenes can look good and others rubbish. It also gives me a headache after 20mins.

@ Actually I’m kind of wondering if a 3D version will be released, since I already have my glasees prepared.

The 3D they use in the cinema is RealD and requires a specially polarised source (which you monitor cant do). The 3D coloured glasses from the superbowl are a completely different technology and would require reauthoring the film (which is highly unlikely)
