Bob Marley & The Wailers – Playlist – The Best Of-2009-SPLiFF

For my first music selection, here’s a collection of Bob from back in the day, and it’s a nice compilation of tracks! Released by SPLiFF, enjoy a lil’ classic reggae! Cheers, mon!

Bob Marley & The Wailers was a reggae band created by Bob Marley in 1974, after Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer left the precursor band, The Wailers.

Bob Marley was a hero figure, in the classic mythological sense. His departure from this planet came at a point when his vision of One World, One Love — inspired by his belief in Rastafari — was beginning to be heard and felt. The last Bob Marley and the Wailers tour in 1980 attracted the largest audiences at that time for any musical act in Europe.

On Thursday May 21, 1981, the Hon. Robert Nesta Marley O.M. was given an official funeral by the people of Jamaica. Following the service – attended by both the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition – Marley’s body was taken to his birthplace at Nine Mile, on the north of the island, where it now rests in a mausoleum. Bob Marley was 36-years-old. His legend, however, has conquered the years.

it's not new, and people need to eat. what better way to cash in than re-releasing music that's widely available.

this is one of those cheap unofficial bargain bin releases that don't contain any real studio tracks, but is instead compiled from outtakes and demos and stuff that didn't make the albums. of all the songs in the list only 'one love' was a hit, and the others weren't even popular album tracks, it's just leftover stuff some studio found and got the license to release. it's very far from being the very best of bob marley. the 'real' very best of which you can buy on amazon has a much different and much better setlist.

I here wondering who the hell those guys on the album cover were…………LOL…..they must have dug deep for that photo…i can't even remember Bob being being a baldhead ….aka without his dreads.

    Best of Bob my ass.

I haven't listened to these tracks but from the names on the play list only three songs are actual "HITS"…Tracks 1, 10 & 11. All others are known and were previously released but any real Nesta fan would tell you that they would play those tracks last on any of Nesta's song list.

actually simmer down was the first big hit success for the wailers and one love should be on it to but for the rest – this is not even clese to showing the best of bob marley. damn major companies! f*ck sony – like these exploiters got nothing else to do

for the photo: it is also well known in being in the wailers first album cover on studio one. so sony dug out nothing, even the artwork seems crappy damn – did they put ANY work in this?
