I don’t want to get too caught up in the drama that’s taken place here lately, but want to assure you all that there is still a dedicated group of editors still on board, to bring you the best in releases. We might feel the loss right away, in some areas, but in the long run the site will be stronger.
While it’s taken a little bit to hit the scene, the new 30th Anniversary edition of seminal New York punk band Blondie’s crossover smash album Parallel Lines was released this summer. Containing smash hits like “Heart of Glass”, “Hanging on the Telephone” and “One Way or Another”, among others, this was the album that transformed Blondie from an underground fave to the top of the charts. Included in this rerelease are 4 brand new tracks, including remixes and French versions.
Blondie is an American rock band that first gained fame in the late 1970s and has so far sold over 60 million records. The band was a pioneer in the early American punk rock and new wave scenes. Its first two albums contained strong elements of these genres, and although successful in the United Kingdom and Australia, Blondie was regarded as an underground band in the United States until the release of Parallel Lines in 1978. Over the next three years, the band achieved several hit singles and was noted for its eclectic mix of musical styles incorporating elements of disco, pop and reggae, while retaining a basic style as a new-wave band.

Martin has done a great service by providing this site and I for one appreciate it. Any old ijit can simply post a list of scene releases but the value is in the comments, esp. on quality of the releases.

PUH-LEAZE…I went to the sites listed in the “drama” post, the latin one does not exist, leechers log is pitiful and has maybe 3 recently released screeners and two of them have the links run through some stupid “click pay” scam site where they are suppose to pay for every click on that site, but when you do it you get creamed by pop-ups that you have to dig yourslef out of to even get the link. Not to mention that two of the links are dead. Torrents? Yea Right. Torrents are dying as they have a main server that keeps a record of your ISP-what you downloaded-how long you were on and when you left (how the hell do you think they were able to shut down the other torrent sites and go after the seeders? DUH!)
Out of the 16 sites listed in the drama post, only one was worth the power to blow your nose and even that one was on a scale of 1 to 100 was a 3 at best.
Now if the new people will ban or remove the Anti American crap that became an everyday happening with the last staff members and ban these people, then this will be so much the better for it.
Kids – THIS is music. Laugh all you want about the 80’s, however YOUR generation fails to realize that punk, metal, rap, hip hop and everything you think you know about music was already done in the 80’s.
