BlitzMax v1.30-DVT

BlitzMax is for specific audience / readers here. For those ones who are into programming stuff mainly (or those who wants to learn it.) BlitzMax is game development software with modified (enhanced) version of BASIC language. DVT released it for 3 operating systems – Windows, Linux and Mac. So, if you’re interested grab yourself a copy and start to code that game (feel free to post your results)! :mrgreen:

Description: BlitzMax is the new, next generation game programming language from Blitz Research. BlitzMax retains the BASIC roots of Blitz3D and BlitzPlus, but adds a ton of cool new features and abilities.

BlitzMax has been designed from the ground up for multiplatform support, and BlitzMax programs can be compiled for Windows, MacOS X and Linux.

BlitzMax includes the Max2D module which contains a set of very easy to use 2D commands. On MacOS X and Linux, Max2D uses the OpenGL API, while on Windows PCs you have the option of using either the OpenGL or DirectX APIs. Both OpenGL and DirectX use 3D hardware to draw graphics to the screen, allowing for advanced effects such as realtime blending, rotation and scaling.

BlitzMax is BASIC…but with a few twists, including:

  • Function pointers
  • Fully dynamic arrays
  • Inheritance and polymorphism
  • ‘By reference’ function parameters
  • Byte, Short, Int, Long, Float and Double numeric data types
  • Array and string slicing
  • Flexible ‘collection’ system for dealing with linked lists etc
  • Low level pointer handling
  • UTF16 strings
  • The ability to ‘Incbin’ binary data and access it as easily as if it were a regular file
  • External language support for interfacing with C/C++/ObjectiveC or assembly code

    When you guys meet foreigners on the street in real life and speak to them…do you constantly correct them and abuse them because they are not speaking perfect English? I have many friends who speak broken English and I understand them and forgive their small mistakes. They took the time to learn my language I appreciate that. It is a lot harder to write in another language than speak it! Good job to all the new guys!

    For da people dat criticized those that do not speak and write perfect English: before ya open ya mouth, please remember that at least they know to speak/write another language beside their native language. So, aren’t they already better than ya?

    Let see ya speak/write in their language for a chance !!!!

    I didn’t say anything, but I was just reading these posts. I do speak English, Spanish, and a little Korean. So I do speak and write in more than one English. I’m an American who moved to Mexico and thought it was pretty easy to learn.

    The funny thing about Rlslog:
    They don’t supply the torrents
    They don’t supply the tracker
    They don’t supply RS download links
    They don’t supply mirrors
    They just post a notice: ‘XY is out’ and at best a link to someone’s torrent, AFTER it has been posted on other sites like *blocked by martin* or http://irfree.com

    Than all the fanboys jump in the comments asking for RS links or torrents… guess what, the stuff you get here in the comments is content that other sites provided… but instead of visiting the original sites you’re flaunting how awesome rlslog is… funny if you think about it… isn’t it… (no, not really :( )
