PUKKA propers Blindness from bifos. Bifos was nuked for no.ivtc, and here’s PUKKA with the correct release. Video sample, subtitles and rapidshare download links added.

A city is ravaged by an epidemic of instant “white blindness”. Those first afflicted are quarantined by the authorities in an abandoned mental hospital where the newly created “society of the blind” quickly breaks down. Criminals and the physically powerful prey upon the weak, hording the meager food rations and committing horrific acts. There is however one eyewitness to the nightmare. A woman whose sight is unaffected by the plague follows her afflicted husband to quarantine. There, keeping her sight a secret, she guides seven strangers who have become, in essence, a family. She leads them out of quarantine and onto the ravaged streets of the city, which has seen all vestiges of civilization crumble. Their voyage is fraught with danger, yet their survival and ultimate redemption reflect the tenacity and depth of the human spirit.

    Can't believe that there are people that think this is one of the worst films of 2008. They're probably not digesting it on the appropriate level. Don't watch this on a literal level where you question every plot move and character decision. It isn't meant to be watched that way.

    "one of the worst movies of 2008 2nd to the one and only the happening" You can only be a 10yo kid who didnt even got to puberty yet.

    This movie is based on a book by José Saramago entitled "Ensaio sobre a cegueira". The book is way better and more detailed than the movie, nonetheless it was one of the better adaptations to movies that i've seen.

    Here is my reposted comment from the nuked version of this movie. If you expect mindless action like "I Am Legend" then avoid this movie!

    Not a bad movie. Some very interesting parts and then a few parts that leave you frustrated when characters do illogical things just to further the plot.

    It kind of reminded me of a cross between Lord Of The Flies and Children of Men.

    Not an action film. Slightly artsy.

    What it does best is explore how there is a very thin layer of civilization and that it takes very little to turn us all into animals.

    @27, Agreed good movie.

    In addition, it shows how flexible the animals called humans are. How they adjust to current situation and develop ways to deal with it and even form hierarcies, like "normal" people.

    Not some bang bang typical hollywood movie.

    This movie is not bad. It could have been awesome except that the main character neglects to do what she should have done earlier in the film. Some nice apocalyptic visuals toward the end. Give this one a chance.

    This movie is WAY better than that piece of crap called "The Happening". Hell, any sci-fi original movie is better than The Happening.

    If you are looking for aliens, ray guns, crystal skulls, or big explosions, then this movie is not for you.

    Blindness has some cool moments. Give it a chance.

    What little I watched of this movie was trash. The acting sucks, hard. The dialogue is something out of a middle school play. And frankly, this wasn't even worth downloading.

    While I'm ranting, I don't care how good the book was, nor do I care how acclaimed the book's author is; this isn't an e-book post, it's a movie post. And the movie blew.
