Group BiFOS brings us the DVD rip “Blindness” starring Mark Ruffalo, Julianne Moore there was a DVD screener released by PUKKA a few weeks back now. The movie is based on a 1995 novel with the same name written by Jose Saramago about a city that gets a disease where people start to slowly lose their sight and are quarantined.

A city is ravaged by an epidemic of instant “white blindness”. Those first afflicted are quarantined by the authorities in an abandoned mental hospital where the newly created “society of the blind” quickly breaks down. Criminals and the physically powerful prey upon the weak, hording the meager food rations and committing horrific acts. There is however one eyewitness to the nightmare. A woman whose sight is unaffected by the plague follows her afflicted husband to quarantine. There, keeping her sight a secret, she guides seven strangers who have become, in essence, a family. She leads them out of quarantine and onto the ravaged streets of the city, which has seen all vestiges of civilization crumble. Their voyage is fraught with danger, yet their survival and ultimate redemption reflect the tenacity and depth of the human spirit.

    Not a bad movie. Some very interesting parts and then a few parts that leave you frustrated when characters do illogical things just to further the plot.

    It kind of reminded me of a cross between Lord Of The Flies and Children of Men.

    Not an action film. Slightly artsy.

    What it does best is explore how there is a very thin layer of civilization and that it takes very little to turn us all into animals.

    Yea it's not like you would expect this movie to be. There's nothing about researching etc etc about the blindness. I thought it really sucked :P

    @12. Indeed the plot reminds The happening a bit. But the realisation is totally different. This IS interesting movie. Btw, the screener quality was very qood. No watermarks or antyhing.

    The movie is very good, one of the best in 2008. Do not watch it if you are expecting another hollywood blockbuster (and stop calling idiots those who have liked it)

    BTW the description posted here basically spoils the whole movie, but i'd still watch it because it is so well directed.

    I've seen it twice.

    P.s: the city with no name is actually Sao Paulo in Brazil.

    bad.ivtc, no.ivtc – quite a common nuke reason which affects mostly lower-quality releases. IVTC means “inverse telecine” and it’s basically a process of converting a movie (usually PAL) with high FPS (30 frames per second) to lower FPS (for example 24) in order to save space and offer better image quality. This conversion often goes wrong (bad.ivtc) or completely lacks (no.ivtc, lazy sceners)). As a result, the image appears to be jerky and the final release uses too much space for no reason.

    It was posted before it was nuked and if you actually took the effort to read you would see in BIG RED BOLD letters that the nuke is listed in the middle of the post

    and regarding the file links its not lazy at all, it makes it easier for everyone.. its a custom google search that searches mininova, the pirate bay and newstorrents so ones it up at one of those sites it will show in the torrent search, rather than having 3 seperate search links for the same thing.

    i don't understand why so many people are saying this movie sucks! it was amazing and raw. They portray some of the darkest parts of our humanity and do it well. Watch it if you appreciate a movie that makes you think and that you like to analyze afterward.
