Works fine on Vista. Did not use any patches or compatibility modes. Not sure why it is marked as XP only.

Well, it’s more reassuring than someone taking that and integrating their own “crap” into it, do you not agree? As much as people like to bitch about Microsoft, they still use their products and they know it. BTW, I’m curious, what operating system are you running?

You can’t get a simple game to run and yet I’m the one with “issues” By the way, what’s a “s00b” version? I don’t think I’ve heard of that one before.

Anyway, yes I do admit that I had a little too much time to waste that day, but I hate assholes. When some loser starts out his post by saying:

I was …. up for first one. This time I was smarter and test it O:)

Same problems with joystick as in first one. They even didn’t bothered to change Registry names just added 2 in reg entry.

Test Conclusion: If want joystick forget it (except few one that maybe work as they worked in first one after patch). I can if I can make same registry patch to make it sort playable on joystick even I do not think it is worth any affort.

If UBI give few extra bucks to devs and let them to read Windows SDK all that will be Ok.

As developer who made several HID (Joysticks, remotes, and RAW command) support engines/plugins and drivers for Custom and commercial hardware/software I know how easy it is to fix that up.

Hi….First off 420 has some serious issues:D
I bought original XP but still using so called “s00b” version.
Anyway…about the game. I have been downloading games for long time and I always promised to myself when a good game comes by I will buy it. So I am big fan of flight games and then came BLAZING ANGELS 2. So I bought it. WHAT A miserable way to waist your money! If I would known better I would have rather given that money to a bum for a booze. So whats my problem?
1. After installing the game I tried to run it and I got the error: “Can not initialize 3D Engine”
So I googeld it and outcome was quite disturbing. a) different forums suggested that I don’t have good enough PC.
Well It’s a laptop but it’s just not A laptop:D It’s Clevo m570ru maxed out (T7700 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo Santa Rosa platform, 2Ghx 800Mhz ram, 160G 7200Rpm hard drive and 7950Gtx 512 Video card, screen is Hi res 1920×1200) So if thats not enough then what a F is?
b) So finally I found information about the resolution. I lowered it to 1024 x Something and tried again. This time game started ok but this was pretty much end of my luck. I gave one spin with the default settings but as the control were not how I wanted them to be and graphics settings were below anything too I decided to play around in options menu. First I changed the resolution. Applied. Crash. Started the game again. Tried to change brightness. Applied. Crash. Again. This time tried to change AA. Applied. Crash. Do I have to continue? I guess not.
So I uninstalled the game and thats it. I am not going to throw it away jet as I am hoping that Ubisoft will come to their senses and will release a patch witch will fix those issues.
Until this time comes I seriously recommend to stay away from this game and save your nerves.

If anyone has this yet, can they tell me if it has the same bad mouse controls from Orig Blazing Angels. ie. a dead zone on the mouse control, very bad, have to keep scrolling the mouse forever to keep turning the plane.

Works fine, few glitches….using my Sidewinder 2 Force Feedback Flight stick renders the game without sound….unplug the stick and sound reappears. Freaky…game itself is decent, they “break you in” slowly, first doing an air show and learning the maneuvers, then throwing ya deeper into combat. Lots of planes represented, all sorts of experimental craft…and if the Xbox Live version is any indication, there are other planes out there to be had (Best Buy gives you a limited edition download, few other retailers too)….anyways, its very possible that there will be more planes added in future patches.

Works in Vista x64 XP compatibility mode, but again, sometimes the sound is non existed or just in stereo. Doesn’t kill the game, just makes it less enjoyable, imo.

Still, a damn good release. Just in need of a patch for compatibility issues atm.

For everyone with the “Can not initialize 3D engine”: Try to set your desktop to a resolution that is supported by the game e.g. 1024*768. Since the game has no setup program it takes the desktop resolution. So if you have a widescreen you might run your desktop in a resolution that the game does not support
