Either way blackberry's have the pop feature for e-mail. It instantly tells you when you have new e-mail. That opens a hole new world for mobile internet devices and if you own a blackberry you most likely have a data plan, most are unlimited data. If thats the case you don't need WiFi. But back to the resolution. I'd expect the next gen of touch screens from RIM to have a higher resolution and that parts not really upto RIM in the first place. It's the people they buy the screens off of. Same with Apple. It's up to the people producing the screens and creating a more precise manufacturing method to produce touch screens with a higher resolution. RIM's pop technology is what sets them apart and keeps them on top of the cell phone market. But yes both Apple and Blackberry have a proprietary OS that they have created. Google has released an operating system called Android which will be in phones soon and Microsoft also has created a mobile operating system, windows mobile. And out of everything you mentioned a good phone having, WiFi is the only one any of the 8000 or 9000 series doesn't necessarily have. For that, your screen needs not only be big, but it needs higher resolution. This turd has a big screen but resolution is as low as on Apple phone. Even new Sprint/Verizon Diamond has higher resolution, not to mention new Diamond HD. Other thing needed is to be able to customize the phone with few free (or cracked) applications and that's again Diamond with Micro$oft OS. As it is M$, it will be compatible with all business needs. So far, I think RIM phones, like Apple have their own OS, so you need $$$ for whatever customization you need. All newer better phones have GPS, MicroSDHC, 2.0 Stereo BT, and WiFi anyway (well... this one has no WiFi). So, my question again for someone who has BB RIM phone: Why you have one? Thanks.
